…They all have their niggles, I am afraid there isnt much competition out there

    Nicely summed up unfortunately.

Yes it is the Foxsat sorry I didnt even know they bought a nother one out I thought freesat was discontinued. I will look it up. Thanks

Belay that comment I have just remembered I did buy one of these units about 1 1/2 years ago. It played up & the picture was all green. I sent it back to Humax for a refund. Stuck with the foxsat at the time & still use it.

Sounds like that was just an iffy F-connector issue rather than a fault with the Freesat box. I experienced exactly the same issue with mine when I first connected it. I re-made the F-connectors and five years later it’s still playing a starring role in my recording regime. :D

No, definately faulty. Checked everything, all leads etc. Plugged in the foxsat & everything worked.

The 1000S series got off to a rocky start with a buggy, badly designed and implemented GUI. However, while still not a work of art it is robust and does everything it says on the can. Picture is superb. I now have 1 x HDR and 3 x HB. No going back.

If you say so. You could do worse than to take note of what other posters say about the G2 Freesat boxes though. They are the Challenger 2 tanks of the PVR world – IMO.

Hi – I bought an FVP-5000T in the Spring to replace my ageing HDR-2T and the most important feature was the Remote Scheduling via the MyHumax.net website. Has this gone down – there have been no updates to my schedule for over 4 days ? To double-check, I have just set a new scheduled recording, and am anxiously waiting for it to appear on my FVP-5000T !

I can confirm that after a few minutes, the scheduled recording did appear on my FVP-5000T, but none of the other recordings set for today and several days hence, nor has it removed a number of completed programme schedules – anyone know the answer ?

The removal of completed recording schedules takes 13 weeks without another episode being found on all Freeview+ kit. The broadcaster can recycle the recording crid codes after this period for a different series. You can of course manually delete them if you wish.

OK – thanks for that info, but part of the problem is that I have 20 old schedules showing up on MYSchedule on the web-site, but one was not a series, the rest were series, but the offending date is not always on the schedule list on the FVP-5000T itself, and those that are, and are ongoing series, only allow deletion of the recording or cancel the whole schedule – obviously not what is required. Furthermore, the delete box on the web-site only remains available until the schedule is transferred to the Humax box – so old ones cannot be deleted from the web-site. It is also somewhat random as to which items remain frozen on the web-site and which disappear after recording. Please note also I was saying that current schedules on the FVP-5000T apart from the one I tested as above, are not showing in MYSchedule on the web-site. Something’s got to be seriously wrong there – Any ideas ?

    Does this help ?

Hi Graham – No I’m afraid not – I have previously read that, and the settings on the PVR are all correct and initially it was leaving some random items uncleared (ie July/Aug). Has something in the August update upset it ? I was away on holiday Sept/Oct and used the Remote Recording via MyHumax.net and then it was OK except some schedules did not disappear from the MySchedule Listing (no identifiable connections).

Now it’s as I stated above – it’s not working properly – the MyHumax Schedule is not including all current schedules & I can’t clear the ones that are still on there that no longer apply.

I’m getting quite frustrated with the unreliability of this Remote Recording software, but that’s the main reason I got the FVP-5000T.

I am a new owner of a FVP-5000T. Can anybody tell me how to advance through the EPG a day at a time. On my Foxsat boxes this is done by pressing the fast forward button but doing this on the FVP-5000T just advances a single page (a couple of hours) at a time and it takes ages to get to get to a week in the future.

If you press the “+” button on the right hand side of the remote while in the EPG you can then select any date in the available range.

I believe there is another method involving holding down one of the right pointing buttons, but I am not certain and cannot check right now.

Whilst in the Guide, press the “+” button, select “Jump to date” and then choose the day you want. A bit clunky but gets the job done.

OK, thanks. As you say a bit clunky but better than a hundred button presses.

I have now checked and you can bypass part of the “+” procedure by holding down the right hand arrow button on the ring. It takes you straight to the date selection bypassing “Jump to Date”.
