InactiveThankyou for that Martin!
Do you know roughly when or how often the OTA updates are sent? So
When the Olympics are over I can hopefully get one?
I don’t have internet access so I’m guessing this would affect my ability to do your
2nd option?

I don’t know when the next one is due but it won’t be before the beginning of September.

I am confused; you are posting here but don’t have Internet access?

Inactivehi
just had a quick read through some of this thread & not sure if my current problem is related to software also..
I have a 9150 and for the last couple of days all that happens when i press a button on the remote is that it scrolls non stop through all the channels.
While I can watch live TV using the buttons on the unit, I can’t watch back anything I recorded, adjust volume etc so its very frustrating.
I’ll admit I’m a bit of a technophobe and didn’t know about doing manual software updates so wondering if this is the same problem?
The software version I have is 1.00.26 system id is 3024.0000 Because the remote won’t work I can’t input the password to do any installation etc with the buttons on the unit.
any advice?

Are you sure that there isn’t a remote for another device somewhere in the room with one of its buttons held down by a book or similar? Are there any fluorescent lamps in the room?

no flourescent lamps and all other remotes are sitting out with nothing on top of them.

InactiveHi, I have read a good number of the posts on this issue. My remote has also just stopped working today. I have tried new batteries, made sure the pvr button is selected and also checked I am running the latest software. All this has made no difference, the remote does nothing.
Does anybody have any ideas?
Thanks

What model of Humax do you have? I am assuming from the s/w version you are quoting it isn’t a 9150, 9300 or 9200.

This thread was specifically for issues with SD recorders.
Foxsat HDR remote at a guess from software and sys id numbers.
1. Check the remote is actually sending commands, by viewing the IR window with a digital camera.
2. Could someone have inadvertently changed the remote code see this FAQ

InactiveMy 9200T has three faults:
A) occasional total ‘hang’, where it won’t respond to anything; recoverable only via power down.
unit intermittently fails to respond to remote: if I wait a bit it can cope with another instruction or two, then I have to wait some more before it’s ready again.C) failure to wake up from standby to record programme
Machine is permanently switched on (not on standby) because of fault C.
Details:
H/W version PVR9200T Rev 1.0
S/W version PGXTF 1.00.23
Loader a4.08
System Id 3020.0000
Update date 20 May 2010

My 9200T has three faults:
A) occasional total ‘hang’, where it won’t respond to anything; recoverable only via power down.
This is the most worrying symptom. Typically what is happening when it hangs? How frequently does this occur?
unit intermittently fails to respond to remote: if I wait a bit it can cope with another instruction or two, then I have to wait some more before it’s ready again. This could be linked to the problem that is being reported with the guide for the next three days being fully populated but for days four to seven having gaps that change with time. Do you see this behaviour? If so you might consider manually tuning using the biggles manual tuning instructions see http://myhumax.org/forum/topic/week-old-9300t-and-epg-wont-fill-up-for-week#post-7097 but instead of tuning all available multiplexes for a transmitter omit one multiplex. This will of course mean some channels are not available but may well help with your response problem.
C) failure to wake up from standby to record programme
Machine is permanently switched on (not on standby) because of fault C.
Does the machine display the time on the front panel when in standby or is it –:–? If the latter then you need the Biggles clock board cleaning instructions; see http://myhumax.org/forum/topic/the-9200-problem

InactiveHi
A) It tends to hang when given conflicting instructions close together, as if it’s confused, and so gives up. This is less frequent than it was. Say once a week.
This is the most irritating of the problems, because it is usually present: when zooming through the ads, it’s likely to carry on zooming when asked to play, then take time and patience to get back to approximately the right place. I don’t think there are guide issues; we’ve not noticed them. Of course, it takes ages to tramp through the guide. On Channel Search, we haven’t noticed duplicate entries, so I guess we’re only accessing one transmitter.
C) We’ve often seen –:– when in standby; it won’t boot from this so we have to power down to see if it’ll boot correctly. Sounds like we need Biggles for this.
November 12, 2012 at 7:28 pm #29100Anonymous
InactiveIt should boot ok manually even if the clock has failed and the STANDBY display shows –:–. Are you confusing –:– (with colon on the right of the display) with —- (no colon on the left of the display)?
November 12, 2012 at 7:56 pm #29101Anonymous
InactiveYes, you’re right; I am confusing them. We’ve seen —- and it requires powerdown. I don’t fancy dismantling it.
I’ll take a look at the channel list when I can get access to the machine, and see if we have 800’s.Thanks.
