InactiveWhen did you email Freesat? If it was a few days ago, then, since some users reported sudden renaissance yesterday, it’s worth writing to Freesat again to let them know that not all units have revived.
The more information they have about which boxes are still suffering, the quicker the resolution.

InactiveWell last night I completely unplugged my box, waited 30sec and plugged back in and the showcase and on demand was working again.
However this morning when I turned on my TV there was no showcase or on demand so I unplugged it again but this time there was no joy, no showcase or on demand so now I’m back to square one
(EDIT:
Strange… The only thing I did different this time compared to last night was that I didn’t unplug my TV as well as my box so I thought I would try it again only this time unplug both TV and BOX and this time I got the showcase and on demand back working.
I am going to switch off at the mains like I do every night and see if I loose showcase/on demand and test this to see if it was just a coincidence

(So email Freesat and tell them exactly what happened, with times if possible. If they were tinkering last night, it will help if they know that your box temporarily responded.

InactiveI have also been turning my TV and box off via my mains switch like I do every night but at the moment after turning them back on I still have my showcase/on demand services.
So it looks like a cold re-boot has brought back the service for today but I will see if I loose it again over time or over night when my TV and box are switched off.
Maybe with my first cold re-boot I didn’t unplug my box for long enough because I can’t see why un-plugging my TV as well would make a difference.

Do you have CEC control enabled on the TV ? (Wondering if there’s some unwanted interaction).

So i have noticed it may take a short while after a reboot or power on before ON DEMAND menu becomes available. Normaly after 1 min from full screen TV pressing HOME and going to ON DEMAND always works for me.

InactiveFinally after waiting and trying reboots etc it all came through on a gradual basis last night. I turned off tv power and freetime box for 30 seconds then put plugs back in again – bingo it worked!
I know have showcase, freesat ID which allowed me to pair with my ipad, and on demand. The only thing I have noticed is that with the rollback earlier facility on tv guide I can only get rollback with bbc programs (I dont get itv due to scottish postcode). Find it strange I cant get channels 4 and 5 on rollback when I can use it with my ipad, perhaps it will eventually fix itself.

It also won’t work if an accurate recording is due to start in next 15 mins.

Inactive2 year old 1000S… I’ve come somewhat late to this discussion, but today I could not get any pgm on iPlayer to play and Showcase was not working. On selecting a pgm from the backward guide I got a permanent black screen. After some investigation I found a difference in the way the box is operating after the recent update.
I always switch my network off when going to bed at night or when going out for long periods. Previously, with the box powered up and the network off, as soon as I powered up the network a grey pop-up would appear on the box saying “Network now available” (or similar). Now the box does not automatically connect, I had to go into Settings and connect it. I then could get iPlayer to work. Significantly, in Settings when I connected the display showed iPlayer and ITV Player as available (despite ITV Player not being available in Scotland), but no Ch4 or Ch5 OD.
So something in the recent update has changed the way the box connects to the network.

I never see any players but iPlayer and ITV Player in the Network Connection screen. That’s been the case since I bought it, about a year ago. All players present and correct in On Demand.

InactiveAt the moment my only suggestion is to try what some of us are doing to work around the problem… Download the Freesat APP and use that if you can. Also some of us are finding that if you unplug the box and TV from the mains for approximately 30secs and then reboot your box and TV then this has resolved the issue, all be it temporarily in some cases so multiple cold reboots may be needed.
Don’t just switch off the box, for some reason it only works if the box is completely unplugged from the socket.

InactiveI can’t help wondering if what I am now experiencing with my 1000s is related to this thread also. Take a look HERE

InactiveDon’t know if my issue is related to the tinkering that Freesat did last night but all my logos have disappeared today. I can still access On Demand but have no logos so have to skip across the blank boxes to see in the info at top of screen which player I’m on. Also going backwards to catchup in the EPG is working. So it just seems that my icons/logos have disappeared from all the menus/EPG. The positive from that is that the channel names on the EPG are actually easier to read on my SD TV lol
