Haven’t experienced the random restart since updating. But did experience it on previous firmware.
I’m not convinced the random restart is random. On my old box and the replacement I got yesterday (and still running 1.00.73 software)it is repeatable in the following way. Set a recording and put the box into standby in plenty of time for it to switch on to record, After the recording ends and the box goes into standby it can be switched on with another Humax remote (set to a different mode obviously). I’ve been talking to Humax about this for weeks and they insist they cannot replicate it. Could other users try? How about Barry?
As I said in my previous post I’ve had the empty schedule and failing to respond after updating software to 1.01.49 and together these are the reasons for the exchange. I’m trying this new box on the old software today. I prefer the epg layout but there may be nasties lying in wait. Also the red led is much brighter when recording than standby, but that may just be how this box works. I will update to 1.01.49 soon and if it crashes I’ll be asking for a refund.
David
Was the replacement the exact same model or the updated one with the different LED layout?

InactiveIt’s obviously an old unit as it has an early version of the software (1.00.73.

InactiveI’m actually not sure when my update happened. There was no notification, and nothing much seems to have changed. All my Favs and other channel choices are intact. Scheduled recordings on the guide remained the same and have recorded since.
I was under the impression an update caused the loss of scheduled recordings.
The only odd thing is that the actual SCEHDULE page is blank now, with 000/000 entries. But, tbh I hardly ever looked at this page, so not a huge concern at the moment.
I notice others have had problems with their schedule page also, but not all?
Is not having a working SCHEDULE page problematic for some reason I haven’t thought of, other than it being a pointless waste of UI graphics?
It was only through this reading this forum that I was even aware of any update this week – the GUI is still horribly sluggish. The recordings in folders still select the most recent by default, rather than the oldest which surely is the episode most folk would want to watch. Maybe it’s solved the power out problems – I hope so, but deeply unimpressed that nothing else seems to have been improved.

Yes, since the update I have seen the schedule is only showing the current days set recordings. The others are still set, you can see them in the EPG, but no longer in the schedule page!

InactiveI really thought they had fixed this box . . . .
The power on problems seems to be sorted but I have found the problems mentioned by other posters with the schedule page, i.e. it’s empty! As mentioned the events do appear in the EPG but I tried to delete/reset one or two and it wouldn’t do it. Rebooting the box seems to bring back the schedule page but it’s gone again the next day.

Inactiveyes, i’ve realised the SCHEDULE page does have a purpose – it’s the way to delete or edit programmed timers – so this bug makes the box not really fit for purpose.
i suppose that not being able to delete or edit programming info is a slightly better situation than simply not being sure your programme will record at all, or whether a random power off will screw it up. but really…
is it actually legal under UK trading laws for humax to sell their gear in this unfinished state?

InactiveThe question is DOES it record if the schedule is empty? I’ll know shortly, my first recording is set for 1:15pm.
Has anyone with the problem already confirmed that recordings still take place? And can everyone with the problem please email Humax customer services. The more feedback they get the more likely they are to accept that it is a problem.

I have the same issue and I can confirm that everything records just fine.
As has been said, a power off of the box brings all scheduled recordings back. So even though scheduled recordings don’t appear in that list, they work.

InactiveThanks, Luddym. I’ve just had my recording start. The schedule remains empty.
I had the same problem on my previous unit after installing a beta 1.01.49 and found that powering off restored the schedule although not always all of it. Humax declared that box faulty and exchanged it. This morning was the first time the replacement had been switched on from standby with recordings in the schedule.
Now off to tell Humax the news.
David.

I don’t want to have to check through pages of the the TV guide to see what’s due for recording – due to the unreliability of the box so far I really need to see see what it is going to (hopefully) record for each day. I don’t really want to be powering off the box either each time the schedule is empty or partially full – even when it is re-populated, it frequently loses everything again the next day. At least it hasn’t missed a recording yet as far as I can tell.
EDIT: Just checked and my schedule is still empty after a reboot.

InactiveJust had a random restart. Guess it’s not fixed the issue then!
