I’ve a Humax FVP 5000, all functions on the remote control work except on/off, I have to press the button on the machine. The batteries are OK.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The On/Off button on my remote died years ago.

I have used various of the other buttons to turn the box on. Currently the Channel down button.

Bizarrely, this only works once per day. If the box goes to sleep I have to use the button on top of the box to turn it back on.

I also have to turn it off on the box itself.
