Hi,
Any news whether this update will resolve the LONG standing issue of not using the correct aspect ratio for movies played from a local server? I hope so but expect to be disappointed

Dave
That’s good because you will be disappointed. I’ve tried various picture settings, but the films are still stretched to 16:9 full screen regardless.
Good to see we’ll finally be getting the newer version of ITV Hub though.

I thought as much! My box has only just updated so will confirm your findings later. Ah well – as you say some nice features otherwise. I have started using PLEX and streaming to my Chromecast stick which gives the correct aspect ratio.

InactiveMy HDR1000s installed this software and now all my recordings are lost and the space is less than 1% and also now I can’t record anything whether in the future or present. I tried powering off/on at plug and still the same. Tried a factory reset and it installed the 3.00.77 again during this reset so it’s still the same. I did another reset this time without connecting to the net and it stayed as the factory default software this time but it still does not allow me to record. It ran fine up until this update at the end of June. Any suggestions?

Stand to be corrected but the latest update is coincidental to your problem.
A small number of units have had a hardware problem whereby the HDD is not detected on boot up.
In warranty units will be exchanged free of charge, out of warranty units Humax are offering an exchange for a charge of £55.00
Contact Humax Support for further guidance.

InactiveThanks Barry. Seems outrageous that a problem on their side that has left me with no recording facility will make me £55 out of pocket. I’ve contacted them and await their response. No way I’m shelling out a penny for this.

Inactiveshadowhood, I am curious – you mention 1% used, can you check System Settings > Harddisk. Does it see the disk at all?
If it does then it is not the same problem or it may be that it is and the component is on it’s way out but not yet fully failed.
I, like other users, have seen recordings temporary disappear on one or two occasions but they are normally restored by a full power down, a 10 minute wait and a reboot.

Your call, don’t shoot the messenger.
Good luck with getting a different offer from support.

InactiveHi REPASSAC,no HDD in my System Settings. In the Storage file, it tells me to “connect a USB HDD to be able to record programmes”.

InactiveThen it is the component failure problem, bad luck.

InactiveI’ve got exactly the same issue. I’ve tried a new HDD and nothing… it worked fine prior to the firmware update. I’ve contacted support today asking for a link to download an older firmware to try on my devices, but no reply yet. (they promised to email me a link)

Welcome to our Forum

If no joy with support then PM me and I’ll provide a link to version 3.00.44, however I do not think this will help in solving your issue.

Confirm recordings are now missing / HDD not detected on boot up?
July 18, 2017 at 2:02 pm #79507Anonymous
InactiveHi Barry
Yes my recordings have all gone, but it’s still detecting my HDD and I can format the drive . My unit takes a lot longer to boot, but when it boots up it seems to hangs for a good 5 minutes before I can do anything. All in all it’s running alot slower than it was before the update.
Also forgot to add that I’ve done a hard reset.
Hope this makes sence
Thanks
Stuart.
