InactiveI have 3 HDR Fox T2’s. The loader in them all has remained the same as purchased, regardless of firmware the version I have subsequently installed. Be it custom or official.

InactiveI think the loader version might be a red herring. From the reports I have seen the users have been able to load a previous version of software onto their box (1.02.32). However, the tuners no longer work on some units. Unfortunately since Humax have not released a downloadable version of the latest software it means the only option is a return to Humax. The current theory is that Humax are using a different tuner on these new boxes but I suppose it might be a difference in configuration.

InactiveYes the problem with the stuff in #13 is that my HDR arrived with 1.00.04 and loader a7.30, I have since installed 1.01.09, 1.02.07, 1.02.20, 1.02.27, 1.02,28, 1.02.29 and 1.02.32 and non of them have changed the loader from a7.30. The only loader update I’ve seen reported was on the HD-Fox T2 rather than the HDR-Fox T2 and I don’t think that has been confirmed elsewhere

ModeratorThanks guys – it might of been one of the many engineering builds I get to see that gave me the idea, not to worry, back to the drawing board

InactiveI suppose I am lucky. The HDR I downgraded to 1.02.32 from 1.03.06 has loader v7.34 but still works, all be it with the occasional ‘no signal or program scrambled message’.
One thing I did notice that the signal levels when compared to an older HDR Fox-T2 where showing as much lower.
I have since stopped using the HDR and am waiting for later firmware to be released.

InactiveSo can I assume from this that the loader is the part of the firmware that is typically unique to each hardware build?
So it contains the drivers (in windows talk) for the software to talk to the hardware? I don’t think i’ve seen an explanation anywhere on what the loader is or does..
Aside from that, 1.03.06 should be made available to those that face having a bricked box and to avoid incurring costs having to send it back to Humax. Likewise, it would save Humax from having to spend the time reflashing the box and sending it back again.
Thats my opinion anyway..

InactiveI agree Chris. How hard can it be just to post v1.03.06 on the beta site?
They must be confident it is reasonably stable as they wouldn’t have released it on new boxes on the first place. Unless, of course, it’s a drop off and it shouldn’t have been release to the wild at all!

InactiveI understand that some new HDR-Fox T2 units have a different tuner module i.e. the UHF input and output sockets are arranged one above the other rather than side by side, could it be that 1.03.06 was produced to accommodate this new tuner and that it is not compatible with the old tuner module?
The new units are labelled HDR Fox T2/RE rather than HDR Fox T2/GB

InactiveThat doesn’t really make sense. My HDR came with 1.03.06 installed and IS NOT an RE model. It does not have the new ‘vertical’ tuner arrangement either.
I could take a photo of the tuners with the part/serial number on the side if you think it would be of any help as I have already invalidated the warranty!

No.

InactiveAh, O.K. By The Way, I got the naming slightly wrong, the old unit = HDR-Fox T2/GB and the new unit = HDR-Fox/GB/RE

Moderator1.03.06 works perfectly well on ‘old’ HDR T2’s – well it is on mine anyway.
and as for some other comments posted on hummy.tv

Edit 15/09:
Quote:Barry (who obviously works for Humax)I do not, and never have worked for Humax – what a halfwit 🙄

InactiveI’m told a user has been instructed (by Humax) to install 1.01.09 and then 1.02.32 as a possible way of downgrading from 1.03.06 to 1.02.32. I am not sure if the HDR supplied with 1.03.06 was a HDR-Fox T2/GB or a HDR-Fox T2/GB/RE

InactiveIt’s looking like 1.03.06 is the only way to get the HDR to play YouTube content as recently all software versions prior to 1.03.06 crash the HDR when attempting to play this content. I understand that 1.03.06 uses an Opera browser rather than the current ANT browser and it’s looking like YouTube now requires this browser. Does this mean that Humax will now be supplying 1.03.06 for download and maybe even OTA?
