InactivePollensa1946 – 4 hours ago » …The Humax uses only 150MB.
Of course if you put it an area of constant through traffic then it will generate a lot more than that.

It has a clever GPS option that turns off the camera if the phone it is registered to is in proximity to the camera

InactiveI didn’t know that – do they suggest what “proximity” might mean? R-

Guessing it’s the same as Android trusted locations (currently broken by a Google home update). I guess IOS is similar.

/Downloads/UM_HUMAX_EYE_GB_17-0515_s%20(1).pdfBased on that it’s about 50-100M from your home location. I don’t get the camera till tomorrow, so need to have a play

You would need to have gps enabled.

InactiveI tested mine this morning and the location services worked well whilst going in and out of the premises with push notifications coming through for various lengths of movement activity.
Nothing else is using the router where it’s now located for a day or so, so I’m trying to see how much data is used from the router stats compared with a few deliberate motion activations I’ve got planned.

ParticipantHaving problems connecting camera to my WiFi. After speaking to Humax spoke to Virgin who opened some ports on my router but still unable to connect.
Humax replacing unit on Monday to rule out a issue with the camera.
I have a Virgin superhub 3.0 in modem mode with WiFi provided by a Asus Dual Band router. No issues with WiFi connections anywhere in my House and Garden.
If the new unit fails to connect interested in any suggestions re the Asus setup.

ParticipantJust tried it again. Seems to a hardware issue. Now when connecting to the camera 2 seconds later it drops the connection.

ParticipantFinally got mine working. Issue was a long (22 characters) logon WiFi Password. Had to shorten it to connect camera to WiFi

InactiveHad mine set up for a few days now. Very pleased. The motion sensor picked up what looked like a moth flying past (indoors) a couple of times. The bandwidth used only appeared to be only a few MB.
May be tempted to get a second one especially as Humax customer service have confirmed in email to me also that there will be no charge after 12 months.

Thank-you Barry.

Anyone well acquainted with the T/C’s of this product? In particular the cloud storage, is it free for the life of the product?
If it’s based on YCam, then YCam is free for the first year
and then someghing like £3 a month. OOPS. Missed a post.it will surely generate lots of Cloud data over 7 days.
Only if you have it set so that it only uploads when you are not in the house or you connect to it ‘live’. That statement is also based on YCam.
