Think I may found the issue. Backwards epg has no programme information. On Demand is not available at the moment. Network connection status is OK.

Guessing it’s a Freeview server issue.

I have backward EPG. You could try clearing cookies to see if that brings both backward EPG and EPG search up.

Very odd Graham. I just put in “g” and Garden Rescue was third on the list of options. Same software version.

Guessing the Op and I have the same external issues. No On Demand content to search so search locks up checking IP delivered content.

Timpars what happens if you press the blue on demand Button and also if you select 101 at current time and go left on the remote ?

I have nothing with “On Demand” either, but the search still works (and gives On Demand results as well as Broadcast).

Clearing cookies fixed backwards epg. Never needed to do this before

fl still returns nothing. Box recording in 47 mins. I will shut it down and power cycle.

Needed power cycle to find any results.

I needed to pull the power out the back and put it back. fl now finds Flatmates etc.

This is all very strange. This model has always seemed very temperamental, just another example.

On another point I particularly miss the skip forward and back features of the FOX unit, great for skipping over ads.

If you press the “looking glass” (search) button and enter a word/name etc it should search your stored recordings, the catchup/on-demand services and the EPG for any future broadcasts.

    Correct!

I often use it to search the EPG for future recordings – and it works. On occasions when nothing is returned – pressing OK whilst the cursor is in the box sometimes works. On rare occasions a reboot is required because the Humax has got itself in a muddle. As my Humax is not permanently connected to the internet (but is connected to a LAN), the idea that future items can only be found from a remote server on the net is clearly not correct.

The left and right arrow keys next to OK achieve skip forward/back.

Going to F/Settings/PVR Settings/Playback Options allows you to set the forward/backwards times.

It has the same but slightly hidden capability.

As the ads start press OK. If the progress indicator is not blue press up to select. Then buttons either side of OK are the forward and reverse skip keys.

Thanks Graham, pleased to find that, couldn’t find it in the manual.

If you begin a search and enter “FL” you will see a list of suggestions appear. If you type in “FLO” you will get the suggestions and the option to “search by FLO” (I am only using caps for clarity).

The “search by” option only appears when the search string contains three or more characters.
