Zero on HDR T2, 1800T, 2000T whilst booting those units does not appear to boot the FVP 4000T – the power button does.

    Work around then. :-)

Unfortunately not for the unit I use the most in the Lounge as freetime HDR’s do not boot with a zero, or at least mine do not.

For others who have same issue…

Please send a message to Humax Support who have not heard of this before, and cannot replicate apparently?

Barry my HDR1000s in standby overnight. This morning pressed zero (3 times for luck), box booted up OK.

Graham, tried one, tried 2 then gave up

Should have remembered the old adage

If at first you don’t succeed then try try try again ๐Ÿ˜†

Oh and btw that works, many thanks :-)

Logic was all channel numbers are 3 digits. At a guess 101 will boot to BBC 1

Oh dear, another fine theory gone up in smoke. :-)

Adds a bit more info to the mystery though.

I will send this to Humax, marked Attention of the Supervisor. uksupport@humax-digital.co.uk

I had used two Humax Fox T2โ€™s for around two years, and they worked very well for me, until one unit failed.

I then bought the FVP 4000T on the 20.10.2015.

I keep getting a problem with the FVP 4000T turning itself on when it should not be on.

Very often after it has recorded a set programme, instead of going back to standby it stays switched on, blue light showing.

I have reset both the remote control codes 3 times, but again after a few days turning on the Fox T2 also turns on the FVP 4000T

All I do now is keep a list of when the FVP 4000T should be on and turn it off with the remote when it should not be on.

I have disconnected the HDMI lead and still get the errors.

If I press 0 on the remote for the Humax Fox T2 then the FVP 4000T does NOT turn on, but I still have the problem of it not returning to standby after a timed recording with the FVP 4000T.

The FVP 4000T does still stay powered up after a timed recording with the HDMI lead disconnected.

My TV is a LG 42LB650V Smart 3D 42″ LED TV.

Well here is the reply from Humax.

    Dear Barry,

    Thank you for contacting Humax.

I am sorry to hear you are having trouble with your Humax product.

When the FVP-4000T is set to record a program, you will need to manually put the unit into standby manually as it will not automatically do this for you.

Also, when changing the frequency of any Humax product, you need to ensure the product that isn’t getting it’s frequency changed is switched off at the mains first.

    Best Regards,

Hello, many thanks for your reply, can I try to explain it again.

Very often after it has recorded a set programme, instead of going back to standby it stays switched on, blue light showing.

so are you saying, if I have set a programme to record and I am not at home the box will stay on until I return home to switch it to standby?

Makes a complete nonsense of the EU power saving regulations. It has to be capable of waking from a sby power mode of less than 0.5W. If you go away on holiday, if the box stays on 24/7 after the first recording it cannot be compliant.

Every pvr Humax has ever made starting with the 8300T has returned to standby after completing a scheduled recording. In addition the box should also have a power saving mode that turns it off after 3hrs of zero user interaction.

Their latest reply and my reply back.

    Hi Barry,

    Yes that is correct.

You can also set automatic power down options on in the settings to automatically go to standby if there is no response from the remote in 2/3 hours.

Your unit can record in standby so if you have recordings set and you will not be present, turn the Humax off using the standby button and the unit will still record your programs.

[Barry Cant] Yes that it what I am doing, but the unit stays on after the recording.

This cannot be correct can it?

    Barry Cant
