InactiveSo an unexpected bit of good news… as I said I realised my recording of Grand Designs hadn’t started about 15min in and pressed record, thinking I could watch the first part on 4OD.
When I came to watch it, I had the 1-min recording and another 76 minute recording. Because my TV was already on channel 104 when I hit record, it actually recorded the whole program – using the fact it was buffered for live pause/RWD/FFD it could retrospectively go back to the start.
Which was actually pretty cool, I never knew that was a feature.
The only weird thing was that the recording didn’t stop at the end but 16 minutes later and there was an error symbol “recording stopped due to power”… we definitely did not have a power cut or anything. There’s no way that turning the TV/Aura off using the remote would stop a recording, right?

Only if you pull the power from the unit.
Have you looked in your Schedule to see if you have schedules that are set but are not getting any information, if you find any delete these from the schedule and it may make your Aura function as expected.
My Aura has been recording all programmes scheduled without any error.
The only thing that wasn’t happening was on a certain programme that is on everyday through the week which was set as a series link recording,
it lost the series link and could only be set for recording individually. After a few days I thought I’d look in the Schedule and towards the bottom of the list there it was but ‘no information’ was displayed’ I deleted it from the schedule.
Going back to the EPG and to the following days edition of the required programme I could now set it with series link again.
The broadcaster must have changed the CRID data a few days ago and the Aura was still searching using the old data.

InactiveAll scheduled recordings on channel 4 hd failed on my aura box, only recording a minute. Weirdly channel 4 SD and plus 1 record fine. Also my FVP 5000 box records channel 4 hd fine.

InactiveYes, C4 programs not recording on my Aura over the last few days, but showing as 1 minute long – Humax technical say they are aware and ‘working on it’.

With a bit of luck Humax may be forced to push out a firmware update.

InactiveIt’s curious this seems to mostly be C4 – I was looking at the CRID protocol wondering if perhaps C4 use a slightly different version or something has changed?
Can one simply find all the CRIDs for every channel online? There must be a standard way to get this that TVs all use after scanning for channels or whatever. I’m a software developer so it would be interesting to know how it works

Some receivers/recorders can display the series and programme CRIDs for programmes that are in its epg. E.g. see the instructions for accessing the Display CRID option for some Humax models at https://wiki.hummy.tv/wiki/Hidden_Settings_Menu

Do an internet search for “D-Book 7 part A WikiLeaks”. It is from 2011 but contains some detail, and also contains references to various standards for other detail.

InactiveI think (perhaps?) that MH is wondering if there is any online source of current crids (as applied to each episode) to compare with the crid that the Humax fetches/displays/uses to see if there is any corruption to the information being inserted somewhere.

InactivePretty much – I was (perhaps naively) thinking there might be some sort of central place all this is found. Every TV/recorder knows how to find channels and then knows how to find the CRIDs (basically URLs it seems) and that can’t be magic. But it might be something you have to obtain access for – like if I wanted to make my own DVR would I have to license this from someone or is there some central database/website out there?

So do I.
Which is why I supplied the info to access the relevant accessible documents which would not only answer the question but also give insight.

Yes for the HD channels, no for the others.

InactiveWikileaks just seems a slightly odd place to be directed. I was meaning if there was a central database maintained by some official body. Is this technically private data somebody published?

If you do not want to download and read that version of the document for an explanation then you could go through the process of accessing a more recent version via
https://dtg.org.uk/the-d-book/
Or another alternative is to gain a role in a company that will enable access for you.
