Turn off CEC on the TV to avoid the TV auto selecting the AVR HDMI input.

Select a different HDMI in on the TV and boot the G2 box.

After the boot manually select the correct HDMI input.

If everything else works OK with your setup, does having the odd characters pass the ‘So What’ test, other than it would be nice to know where they bare coming from?

The power-up sequence on the Humax is slightly different when powering up from full power-off and from standby power down.

Which do you use overnight, standby is recommended?

Which picture resolution is set on the Humax?

I sent it to a colleague in Tokyo and it is definitely not Japanese.

He said it was Chinese and forwarded it to another colleague in Shanghai.

If I get a response, I will post it on this thread.

Thank you! I wonder if it is either Chinese or maybe Korean.

Translating the message is far and away the best option I think.

The message might say something unusual, yet very interesting.

It is Chinese, however the Chinese characters don’t make any sense.

It was suggested that it may be a Unicode issue.
