InactiveNot too sure about the dongle, home plugs tend to be far more reliable and cost around £20 – £30 for a pair, plug in and forget.
The hdr fox t2 is a brilliant machine, comes alive with the excellent custom firmware. It crossed my mind though that if your receipt shows HDR2000T you could take it back when they eventually hit the shelves and claim you never realised it was a foxT2. Argos have no excuse getting this sort of thing wrong.
I’ve a sneaky suspicion though that the box you’ve got will prove to be better.
Well done getting the discounts, a bargain.

PVR’s are exempt from their 30 day money back deal, so probably the only way that you could return one, was is if it was faulty.

InactiveNot being as described is sufficient to get a refund or exchange regardless of the Argos restriction.

Interesting responses! 😉
Incidentally I have just checked my Argos till receipt and it describes the item as “114/4697 Humax 500GB Freeview Box”. No mention of a model number. Currently the Argos website is still showing the box as “Humax HDR-2000T 500GB Freeview HD Digital TV Recorder 114/4697”. On the email from Argos confirming my reservation the unit is described as “Humax HDR-2000T 500GB 114/4697” I have printed off the email and attached it to the receipt. Nowhere on any correspondence is there a reference to HDR-FOX T2.
I shall watch developments as they unfold with great interest. 😯

And only one out of the five reviewers noticed it wasn’t what was advertised, he’s probably a member here. Anyone owning up to being NW age 35 to 44?

Barry in your view and without giving anything confidential away, is it worth waiting for the proper HDR-2000?

That is a hard call to be honest Martin, eg would obviously depend on user preferences hardware wise, and I cannot say to much until it is officially announced.

Hello All,
I just joined here because I was looking at getting a Fox T2 or a T2000. Seeing the previous comments I went to Argos yesterday (theres one around the corner, so no great effort) and asked to have a look at the T2000 (they brought out a T2). The stock code for the T2000 is 114/4697 and the ticket on the side of the T2 was same. So they’re selling out old stock under the new item code.
I just bought a T2000 from Humax Direct and it’s a 500GB model as they don’t do anything bigger. I’m sure that I can find a nice 4TB HDD for about £100, but will probably wait for the warranty to expire and then check back here before I buy one and fit it. I’ve already got a 2010-ish FoxSatHDR running Raydon’s firmware, so the new T2000 will be a welcome addition to the fold. I note that the T2000’s PSU is external, but there are plenty of 3rd party 12V switchmode PSU’s out there that could replace the part if there are any issues.
Regards,
Dave.
