New 55″ OLED (LG) up and running. No problems with FVP-5000T, HDR-1000S, And Foxsat-HDR. However the picture quality of SD content really shows up the amount of scaling required. HD pictures are good with direct viewing of HD from the Foxsat-HDR being the worst. Standard blu-ray looks very good and 4K UHD HDR disks jaw dropping sound and pictures. TV sound on it’s own is surpisingly good. Has Dolby Atmos on board. Netflix Blue Planet 2 on 4K firestick is excellent but not as good as the UHD blu ray disks.

All except the Foxsat are set to output at 1080p50.

    Excellent news.

Thanks for the info Graham :)

I’ve got someone coming tonight to view my Kuro 5090 @ £150.

    Breaks my heart 🙄

    OK.

I now have the LG OLED 55″ B9, and have to say am very pleased with the PQ so far.

TBO I don’t notice a great improvement to my ex Pioneer 5090, apart from it being a smart TV, which is handy.

But I assume I will, when more 4K material arrives…Right?

    So the free-sat channel’s…… I’m happy with.

    Thanks for the input guys.

Edit…by the way, I got £250 for my kuro in the end. 😯

Another thing I & the wife find frustrating is the remote.

When we’ve recorded something, and play back, we do the usual of fast forwarding through the blessed adverts.

Press the fast forward and it doesn’t go fast until we’ve pressed the FF button several times, It hangs for quite a while. 🙄

Is this something others fin, and is there a cure?

I prefer to skip through adverts rather than fast forward. There are no dedicated skip keys on the FVP models but it is easy enough to do using this FAQ https://myhumax.org/forum/topic/how-to-use-skip-function

does the humax deal with 4K TV’s OK?

It’s pretty good with my Pioneer 5090, but ready to replace with 4K now. :-)

Our HDR 1000S is absolutely fine with our SONY BRAVIA KD49XG9005BU. Obviously there is no 4K support on the Humax, but our Sony up-scales the signal brilliantly.

    Regards,

    Paul

P.S. Sorry, this is a bit late, I didn’t read to the end of the thread.
