    Graham,

Have tried recording and watching on the HB1000s and really can’t get it to work.

Tried CBBCHD, BBC1HD, BBC2HD, BBC3HD, BBC4 HD in any combo as they should all be on the same transponder, and also, in case I misread your instructions, ITVHD, Ch4HD, Film 4 and 5.

I get an error message to say can’t change channel while recording.

    Am I doing something wrong?

Just tried this on my HB-1000S (RH postcode – England).

Changed to BBC2-HD (102), pressed record, on-screen banner appears.

Entered with keys 108 BBC1-HD – programme changed to 108.

    Checked recordings BBC2-HD being recorded.

    Just as Graham suggested.

Ditto to previous post working for me – You should be able to scroll through channels that are available to watch when recording using the programme up/down button.

Well thanks to all for replies.

I have now experimented more carefully and found that BBC1HD, BBC2HD, BBC3HD CBBCHD can all record and watch. The anomaly from what you have said previously is that BBC4HD on Channel 107 will not record with any of the other BBC channels except CeBeebiesHD.

Unfortunately I do not have an opt+ key on the HB1000S remote but do have one on an old RM-108. This remote however will not work the HB1000S so I cannot see which transponder BBC4HD is on.

You are correct, there is an error in the static version of the spreadsheet. I will upload a copy of the current details for a West Midlands postcode from my Foxsat-hdr. I will post link when I have done it.

Aha that helps me to understand where I was going wrong.

I have now rechecked with the macro version and realise my error.

Here’s my summary for frequently watched channels

Each Group permits record and watch within the group

    108 BBC ONE HD

    102 BBC TWO HD

    106 BBC THREE HD

    600 CBBC HD

    107 BBC FOUR HD

    200 BBC NEWS HD

    601 Cbeebies HD

    119 ITV HD

    126 Channel 4 HD

    105 Channel 5

    128 Channel 5 + 1

    129 5 USA

    130 5 USA + 1

    131 5*

    132 5* +1

    133 5+24

    141 Spike

I don’t actually watch all the Channel 5 transponder group but add it for completeness 😳

    OPT+ doesn’t work on a Freetime box.

Download this file and use the file open menu in your browser. It’s the current channel line up using a West Midlands postcode. You may have to alter a few at the lower end for your postcode allocated channels.

    It’s sorted in transponder order.

    https://www.adrive.com/public/SXju2N/FreesatChannels.htm

Don’t forget you can alter what you can watch where a channel has regional variations on different transponders by recording an alternative.

Example You can record one and view any other from this group

    104 Channel 4 10714 H

    125 More4 + 1 10714 H

    300 Film4 10714 H

    301 Film4 + 1 10714 H

    974 Channel 4 10714 H

    or this one

    107 BBC Four HD 11023 H

    200 BBC NEWS HD 11023 H

    601 CBeebies HD 11023 H

    973 BBC One ScotHD 11023 H

    976 BBC One Wal HD 11023 H

If you wanted to watch BBC 4 HD and record BBC 1 HD use channel 973 or 976

The Macro driven version of the spreadsheet won’t work for a HB1000S because it assumes you have one cable but two tuners connected.

I see. These “other” channels can be found quite easily on the HB1000S channel guide too I guess

Unless you delete them they are on all Freesat boxes, except of course you wont find the HD ones on a SD only box. Most of them you cam move to replace the ones lower down the list using customised channels.
