InactiveRenamed file to simplier format and just attached one but still no joy.
Anyway have jotted S/W version down.
If there is a way attach files you know of Graham then of course happy to do that.
Thanks again

ParticipantThat’s all good. What version of software do you have. Need this to advise how to fix ?
The difference is down to the second channel I asked you to try and view.
In single cable mode you can use all channels with the same frequency band and polarisation as tuner 1 is using. In the first test the test channel was in the same band but different polarisation. 104 and 105 are both low band horizontal channels.

Photograph your recording schedule whatever software you have you will need to re-enter the schedule.

ParticipantYou have the latest software, so all you need to do is a freesat tune. Check afterwards that you have the two cables message on the signal info screen.
You possibly don’t have enough posts to upload files. No need any way as pretty sure the retune will fix.

Don’t tell me I have to have 8470 like yourself?

Just reading your links you kindly sent … little heavy going for me but will get there.
Ahh so just do a setup re-tune? Sounds nuts but I don’t recall trying this!!!! 😳
Will give it a crack now Graham and come back to you. Cheers

Previous to the latest software only ways to change connection mode was either a factory reset or via one of the hidden menus.

InactiveOK ever felt a total fool? No you probably don’t know that feeling Graham. I on the other hand do!!!!! 😳
Yet again I owe you a beer Graham …. absolutely spot on!
Did the re-tune and the 2nd cable came up and signal strength perfect on all bars!!!
I’m totally lost as to how it all went wrong …. it was months back. A lesson for me to look at the time rather than leave half a year.
This is great … for 2 reasons …. no expensive flawed Freesat brick and a good learning experience for me.
Brilliant Graham, absolutely happy here and really appreciate your hand holding me through this one. Happy day!

The usual way this happens is the box was first set up with only 1 cable with the second connection being added afterwards and making the incorrect assumption the box will recognise it now has two cables.
Now you can records lots over Xmas

InactiveAnd you know what Graham, I think that is exactly what happened.
This box hangs off an old Sky dish with a dual LNB. All the other sets in rooms are off another dish via a multi-switch which is all fine.
The 2nd cable off the legacy Sky dish had a duff mini F-type end that was poorly made off when originally installed by Sky eon’s back.
I reckon I did precisely as you mentioned and either connected with a duff made off end or didn’t even connect and the subsequent assumptions as you rightly say, led me down entirely the wrong fault finding logic.
The sad reality is I don’t record a great deal or watch a huge amount of TV. Mind this significantly improves my odds of doing so now.
Again, a huge thanks Graham …. is truly helpful stuff. is always great when you can get good natured and informative support without being made to feel a prize plum. All the best.
