InactiveWas wondering if aura supports a web browser? And, if so does netflix website run via that?

InactiveThe most cumbersome thing I found yesterday was using the remote for keyboard entries; was surprised there wasn’t a neater way to do that for usernames / passwords etc. But if it’s a one time setup then I’m not too bothered!

InactiveGot my sound sorted (well almost). Dived behind the TV and pulled all the cables out of everything and started from scratch. The Humax remote main On/Off (programmed TV button for LG and Inputs) now switches the humax box, tv and panasonic sound box on and the volume level is consistent across all devices EXCEPT that volume up/down on the humax remote still does not change the volume on the Sound box. However, volume levels are consistent across the three devices so no sudden surprise if you switch away from the Humax. As I now also have a Firestick 4K I have retired my Apple TV.
Just loaded Disney+ from the app store and it works fine.

InactiveCould anyone answer the following questions, please?
1. How long does it take for the box to be useable after bringing it out of standby?
2. How soon can a manual recording be started after bringing it out of standby?

Depends on standby mode
Active sby very quickly. In full 0.5W sby very slow. Not timed it but it’s several minutes.

InactiveAll a bit premature as we don’t have the app available yet, but on reading through the manual my interpretation is this:-
– live broadcasts, whether HD or SD, will be watchable “live” via the app
– offline viewing of recordings will require a pre-mediated “convert” choice to put them into “mobile” format
What about watching “live” a recording made on the box via streaming it over wifi in the home? The EETV box that I’m migrating from allowed SD and HD recordings to be watched in the home without any conversion; I’m guessing it just pushed the transport stream across to the phone (worked from day 1 on Apple devices, had to wait a while before the app supported HD on android, but it does now).
If it’s being “streamed” live from a recording then there should be no issues with encoding / copy protections for the HD streams; would be a pain if I needed to convert everything that I might want to watch on my phone whilst cooking etc. And would the conversion process result in a loss of quality when watching the programme back via the TV?
All stuff to play with over the next few weeks I suppose. This all takes me back to the heady days of the 3view box which I was an early adopter of. A brilliant box in many ways – apart from the fact that it crashed and lost support!!

You must be unlucky as it is the most prominent app when I go to Google Play (Get More Apps)! Have you tried installing from the Google Play Website on a computer: https://play.google.com/store

Puffin TV Browser is reported by the PlayStore as being compatible? Not tried it though.

I got similar. It just says installed which it is on the laptop that I opened the webpage on and the FVP box has an x
Doesn’t help to get it on a Aura. The playstore app on my Aura Disney+ says version is incompatible.

You can install apps from the Google Play website on your computer to any compatible Android device including the Aura.
