Hi folks good to see this problem is being discussed and not only ‘waiting for those on high’ to sort it. I have a one week old Humax HDR 1000s which I updated to 2.02.01 on day one. Since then I too have the ‘No Showcase or on demand’ problem which will not respond to: Switching off and on; reconnecting to router etc. The only thing I haven’t tried is a factory reset. What will I lose? As long as I don’t lose recorded programs I’m fine with that is that what others recommend?
I will e-mail support with my model/software/router info.
We do have internet connection and catch up on 901 so it is exactly what others are experiencing.
Loving everything else about the box by the way, we were paying Sky £50 a month for almost nothing more!
Welcome, thanks for the info, hopefully they can get it sorted soon.

Quote:I think the old software will show the old Showcase and the new the new. Different URL perhaps. That’s what I think also. But I don’t know for sure.
That was certainly true at update time. But anyone have any idea what has happened to the old Showcase since. Is it still available ? If so is it fully functional and being updated ?
It must have been functional two days ago when evilivor was accessing Showcase, if you know for a fact it’s a different URL.
Speaking of URLs, and I don’t know if it’s in any way relevant, but on Monday, on my initial use, prior to upgrade when Showcase and On demand worked, – Channel4’s On Demand went to an invalid URL. BBC, ITV and 5 were fine.

I don’t, others do though and you said it was “Good that Freesat are checking on that” (Which software version the box is running).
As far as I’m concerned it’s very unimportant as the boxes under normal use update automatically to the newest version and any boxes on here that aren’t working correctly have been updated or updated automatically to the new software.
We’re clearly at cross purposes. It’s good that Freesat are checking what version is being used by those affected because that may be the (or at least a) crucial factor in pinpointing what’s wrong. It would be stupid not to check. Fortunately, Freesat aren’t making that mistake.

You won’t lose your recordings (that would be dire
).You will though lose your recording schedule (Make a note of it first or photograph the schedule using a digital camera). If you have changed any other of the default options (The basic volume output of the box for instance that will be also be reset).

InactiveOne thing that hasn’t been picked up on, a few of us have said that Freesat is showing we are connected via Bebox. Not sure about anyone else but my router is not a Bebox, I’m betting that’s the same for a lot of folk who are having this problem

That is normal, nothing to worry about.

InactiveHope this gets sorted out soon. I too have just noticed this issue with no showcase or on demand after getting a failed recording of Scott and bailey and attempting to look for it on catch up.
Running the latest software 2.02.01 on my 1000s which I’ve had for about 18 months.
After initially installing the latest software update the new showcase was working fine and so was on demand. Now my box says I need to connect to broadband to use showcase or on demand but I am connected and can search for updates and port YouTube videos over from my smartphone so I know I’m connected.

InactiveFreesat are asking anyone still having issues to get in touch. See http://www.freesat.co.uk/help/got-freesat/fix-a-problem/showcase-on-demand-issues

Another poster mentioned that if you have the Freesat app and connected to the same network that you can launch the on demand players or just individual shows via that so maybe that’s worth a go until it’s fully resolved.

Inactivetonegee – can you get IPlayer on channel 901?
Is that a HB or HDR 1000S?
October 2, 2014 at 10:36 am #55064Anonymous
InactiveYes I can get iPlayer on 901 and ITV player on 903 but not On Demand on 900 as that says I need to be connected to broadband.
I have a HDR 1000s 500MB plugged into a Virgin Media super hub router via Ethernet cable.
I’ll get the freesat app and give it a go but I would still prefer my freesat box to work properly and not have to try and find workarounds.

InactiveJust downloaded the freesat app and will have to control On Demand and Showcase via that for now.
Thanks for the tip

Which Virgin Media Super Hub ?
I have a superhub (no issues with mine), Is yours a Superhub2 ?
October 2, 2014 at 12:38 pm #55067Anonymous
InactiveNo, just a normal superhub. It’s not the hub that’s the problem, I assume it has something to do with the last update because I never had a problem before that plus the fact that I’m obviously not alone in having the exact same issues and I can send showcase and on demand information to watch on my box via my smartphone app so that confirms that my box does have broadband connection.
