Humax service announcement: – https://uk.humaxdigital.com/humax-service-announcements/
They mention “iPlayer on all Humax devices” but does “free to air customers” include Freesat because they don’t mention Freesat by name?
They also mention YouTube as no longer supported on some boxes but it should work on the HDR-1100S (Freesat) box but it doesn’t.
Still no iPlayer or YouTube on my HDR-1100S.
Ditto with my FVP 5000T last night.

InactiveYey! iPlayer working again as of 5 mins ago.
October 9, 2020 at 1:41 pm #93902Anonymous
InactiveYes, indeed! Working on my FVP5000T. Excellent, but very slow response from Humax to sort it.
Still not on YouTube though.
Edit: Not used it before, but tried BBC Sounds and that is working too. Tried BBC3 live as well as a recording and both played OK.

InactiveYes iPlayer now working on my 4000T and 5000T but no YouTube yet unfortunately.

InactiveSame here regarding YouTube. It’s still not working on my HDR-1100S either.

InactiveiPlayer now working for me – also works from backwards EPG. Tested BBC Sounds for first time and that works too – but unable to skip backwards or play from beginning (live broadcast) unlike the iOS App. Can listen from beginning on archived material.
FYI iPlayer version 4.1.1 9 October at 12:48:53
YouTube still not working (redirect to YouTube.com with blank icons)

Graham, re the programme information on the backwards EPG, that looks like a separate issue specific to you. I have had no problems with it at any time during the iPlayer outage. In fact almost all of the many tests I have done have been by scrolling back into it and selecting a programme to view with On Demand.
It might be worthwhile for you to investigate the possible solution I highlighted back in Post 47 of this thread. I was having loads of problems with the backward EPG disappearing, but it all stopped when I used that solution suggested by somebody else at that time well over a year ago. It has been faultless ever since then.

The solution you gave in that previous thread was to change the DNS servers (not DHCP) on your router, it would seem likely that the domain name of the backward EPG was not on the DNS servers originally set in your router. It could well be that the previous DNS servers would now work but if all is well anyway then no probs.
The same thing could be affecting Graham, the only way to find out would be for him to change his DNS addresses (amongst others, Google’s 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 should work).

On my Archer/TP-Link router, the settings I changed were the primary and secondary DNS values in a column headed “DHCP Server”.

Need some help here. Tried choosing the manual option rather than DHCP. When I enter the google dns server settings the apply button cannot be accessed.
Do I have to do this on the router directly ? I have a nighthawk router with the Virgin router set to modem mode.

InactiveHi All
I note some devices are now working. My HDR200T now displays under maintenance when I hit the iplayer App, so not even getting into iplayer at all as before. Anyone in the same situation.
Thanks

InactiveFinally have bbc I player back working and bbc sounds. Now the problem is we can’t get youtube to load. Any ideas.
October 9, 2020 at 4:30 pm #93914Anonymous
InactiveGraham: I have a recollection that you can only change the DNS settings on the box itself when you are connected by Ethernet, not by WiFi. That could the reason the apply button cannot be accessed.
I cannot comment on your specific router as I know nothing about it.
