Yeah it’s back for me too.

This must mean it’s the either:

Transmission of an out of spec signal which Humax is discarding

Failing to decode an in-spec signal.

I can see no-one ever taking responsibility for this.

I find it hard to believe it’s an out of spec signal. My TV picks it up perfectly all the time and the Humax (when it’s receiving it) shows 95% quality, 100% strength. I plan to contact Humax again to push for a response… suggest that everyone here who’s suffering from it does so over the next two or three days so Humax can see it’s not so isolated.

As I have already said I have tried to talk to Humax but all they say its ether your set up or its a signal problem, they also said that no body else as reported it when I know different. So I hope you people have better luck than I did. I have also tried digital uk but no luck there ether.

Hi yes our 2000T which I bought in May this year went on Friday lost COM 7 too, its in our front room. The strange thing is I have just bought a brand new 2000T for the bed room to replace our old one, and it still picks up COM 7 fine. I tried swapping them around and still the new one picks it up COM7 but not the old 2000T. Cant understand it they carry the same software and show the same signal strength on the other multiplexes, except the new 2000T says for COM 7 89 percent and the old 200T says no signal on COM 7. Very odd.

Interesting observation. One possible explanation would be that Humax have implemented a hardware change to fix the problem.

Thanks for posting this observation which at last appears to point us to something tangible. Clearly if the new box picks up COM7 and the old does not then we have an issue with the old boxes (I purchased mine in Feb 2015).

If Barry (Administrator) is reading could this be fed back to Humax towers?

As my box is well within the gaurantee period, I wonder if it might be time to consider swaping it over for same model, newer build date? Would be a pain to loose all my recordings though (as I understand transferring them to USB takes an age).

Did you rescan when you swapped them around?

I have redone the new one for a test and it still picks Com 7 up OK on a rescan, but there is no point in trying to rescan my old 2000T as its still not picking up COM 7 (UHF 32), because you just lose the stored channels. Its best not to rescan but just keep trying the COM 7 channels (example 71 motors or 81 Talking Pictures).

It would be interesting if you moved the old box to the working location and did a scan to see whether it picks up the same channels as the new box. If yes, it’s probably the location that makes the difference. If no, it could be a hardware difference, as Martin suggested.

Without doing a rescan, you can’t tell.

I have also found with my older 2000T even when I get the signal back on COM 7, it takes 6 or 7 rescans before it picks up the channels as it keeps saying no channels found. And yet I have no problems at all with the other multiplexes even COM 8 on my older 2000T.

It might perform differently in the different location.

I have my old 2000T is now in the bed room no matter what room I put it in it still not able to pick up a COM 7 signal at the moment, however the new one I have just bought is working fine weather in the bed room on the extension lead or strait off the main aerial in the front room.
