Had a Foxsat for years and decided to go with the new HDR-1100S 1TB. The thing is the old Foxsat had a SCART out to which I have an analog converter connected which puts the signal down coaxial to a second TV in the bedroom. The 1100S doesn’t have a SCART is there anyway I can convert one of the other outputs to analog? If not, I think this will have to go back!

Thank you for pointing out the ‘Audio Description’ feature: I never knew that it existed. Obviously I have not been inquisitive enough to find out the full capability of the Foxsat. I will certainly give this a try out.

The box has three RCA Phono sockets Yellow (CVBS Video) and Red/White Stereo Audio. These are what your modulator needs. If your modulator only has a scart socket a cheap adaptor will be needed.

Another question, is there any way I can back up the recorded programmes on my Foxsat and transfer them to my 1100S? Otherwise it seems I’ll have to run them side-by-side for a while?

SD recordings can be copied to usb on the Foxsat and presumably uploaded to the 1100S hard drive (You can do this on a 10x0S box). HD recordings are encrypted so you can only view them using the Foxsat.

Just one other thing – a piece of feedback to HUMAX: the OK and arrow buttons on the remote are so noisy! Whoever was it at HUMAX who thought this irritating clacking noise was a good idea?

I thought the remote was a bit odd at first. However, once I got used to it I think it’s a really good remote especially the positive ‘click’ it doesn’t irk me at all. This has received acclaim from many quarters.

Pretty sure nothing has changed. All the Humax remotes will work with any of the kit. They can change modes so you can use more than one box in the same room. I would expect the original Foxsat-HDR remote to work the 1100S if both are set to the same mode.

This is weird: I can control the new box via the infra red extender providing I use the ‘old’ Foxsat remote, but not the ‘new’ 1100s remote. 1100s remote operates the box faultlessly when not going through the IR extender.
Both remotes are set to setting 1 and set to control box, not TV.

How very peculiar. Perhaps try setting the 1100s to one of the other modes. If you have a smart phone/tablet the Freesat app will control Humax freetime boxes remotely using WiFi.
I have the new Humax HDR-1100S to replace Sky+ HD but it has no RF2 or Scart. It is located upstairs and the TV is wall mounted in room below and want to control it remotely like I did with Sky. I have a coax cable and HDMI running up stairs. What set up is recommended using the existing coax with a digi eye and I have been looking at a Triax Tri-link. I also want to send the signal to a second TV any assistance is much appreciated.

Hi welcome to our forum.
Either the Triax unit you mention or this one should do the job.
You will need a scart adaptor for the modulator end as the 1100S only has RCA sockets and a twin RCA phono cable.
eg
To feed two extra TV’s you will need a sky compatible splitter or amplifier (capable of returning the magic eye remote control signals and passing 9V power.

I screwed up (senior moment) , you need a triple RCA cable.
Yellow (CVBS aka Composite), Red – Right channel analogue audio, White – Left channel analogue audio.
