I have tried updating via null modem cable and flash9200 I get it starting and then reporting “waiting for 2” and an error code on the screen of E-UT
My system ID shows as 4847.5a7d
Update date jan 13 2010
software version 1.00.19
Now what have I done wrong??
You have done nothing wrong however the System ID is definitely wrong and needs to be corrected. What model of Humax do you have?

What I can’t understand is that, despite the PVRs being set to automatically check for software updates at 04.00 daily, they were running Version 18 software !!

Are your 9300s in STANDBY at the auto update time (4am by default)? They need to be for the auto update check to take place. For some reason many people leave their boxes switched ON 24/7 and so their boxes don’t update.

Typo I think, should read 4am not 4pm.

Inactivemany thanks for all your help. Now back up and working.
Great – if only they would give it the functionality of the original Tivo !! Mine still works alongside the Humax and is better for some things.
Still, at least it is all back up and running, thanks to you

Yes – they are NEVER actually switched-off; (by which I assume that you mean at the switch on the rear of the box).
When we go to bed, we switch off using the power button on the remote; that’s all.

John Isherwood.

So John your boxes are in STANDBY at the auto update time and so should have updated ages ago. Maybe you have the id problem that Barry mentions a few times in this thread, maybe he will comment soon.

ModeratorI believe John has now managed to successfully achieve OTA update, so his sys id should be OK.
If auto update is enabled, then I am at a loss as to why he got stuck on earlier version…unless any error messages on the front display were ignored, which I think is unlikely.
My V19 test unit is still OK as well, so I think we can assume whatever caused it has been tweaked or undone.

InactiveWhile we’re on the subject of software Barry, any whispers on v26 for the 9200 or should we just forget about it?

InactiveMany thanks for the help I’ve found here. I have a 9300T and was tearing my hair out yesterday evening until I found this site. Until now my unit has been left on 24/7 (it feeds a common aerial system in the house and I work odd hours so often watch recorded programmes in bed early mornings) so it had not updated since purchase – update worked fine and first time last night so now back on line.

A lot of the Tivo functionality is protected by patents which presents difficulty in trying to replicate the functionality.
