InactiveI’m experiencing a playback error on YouTube. Any video’s sent to the telly via the Youtube app on my phone or played via the Humax interface is experiencing the following error “Playback Error, This video is currently unavailable”. On the app itself the message is “This video is not available on your TV”.
I’ve signed out of my Youtube on the phone and the Humax box and back in on both and I’ve re-booted the box, also I’ve un-paired and re-paired. Still no joy.
Video’s that worked previously now do not. The error on my laptop is “This video is not available for remote playback” when accessed via the Youtube browser.
Effectively the Youtube on the Humax has ceased operation.
Any ideas?

InactiveYep same here too.

InactiveHmm, might be that changes to the Youtube site has broken the app.

InactiveStrangely, some of my videos will play but most won’t. I tried pairing the Humax with an Android device but while the video would play okay on the latter, when I switched the view to the TV it said the Humax couldn’t play it. Let’s hope they fix this soon.

InactiveOn the up side if it’s broken for everyone then a fast fix is doubtless in the pipeline.

InactiveSame here. About two weeks ago I noticed some vids would not play. This morning, none at all play – “Playback error” each time.

InactiveBroke for me too. After putting up with the LOADING message appearing on screen for ages, now it looks like we will have to put up with no YouTube at all. Their new playback and website changes are crap too, looks like they have resorted back to older tech.
Maybe if enough people complain about it then someone at Humax will update the 1000s firmware. Or downgrade it by the looks of the new YouTube !

Inactive9 out of 10 of everything I select on You tube through my Humax 1000s will not play, (Play back Error) Return to Guide!
I will get the odd 1 but it takes most of your time up trying to find one that will play…

Inactivei actually only purchased my Humax freesat+ box for the YouTube facility, so i am really gutted that only 8 out of 10 videos will play.
i get “playback error” on virtually everything.
it’s great when i do find something that plays, though.
i hope this is fixed soon.
does anybody know who i need to complain to?

InactiveI would also like to complain as I am fed up of either signing upto something you do not get fully like talk talk 69 channels and only receive 33, then buy my Humax 1000s and then do not get the service of Youtube.

InactiveThe YouTube function was actually working fine for a few weeks after the flashing “Loading” text problem, then YouTube changed their website and the way the stream videos slightly so I believe it’s actually YouTube’s fault and Humax now has to update it’s firmware to include the changes made by YouTube.
Now when Humax release their next update is anyone’s guess but I hope they address this problem in it.

InactiveI have contacted Humax on behalf of all of us in this thread by email in which to reply to us in this thread and keep us updated on what is going on, (Hoe this helps and hope we get a reply !
Dear Humax,
Many members who have purchased a Humax 1000s & 1010s are recently experience serious problems in the playback of videos
on Youtube through their recorders, most are very “Frustrated” and some members have purchased their recorders specifically
for this purpose to access you tube and are greatly disappointed in the service.
I appreciate you pay attention to one thread alone
http://myhumax.org/forum/topic/youtube-playback-error
We tend to understand this is could be a fault of You tube due to some updating they have done from their end, but we all tend to
understand that it is the responsibility of Humax to provide a Update in which to solve this matter and have videos on
you tube available to us once again.
We appreciate if you answer some of the members questions on the thread above and provide an explanation on what will be done in
which to resolve this problem and when it will be expected to arrive!
Regards

InactiveHi felix,
surely this should be sent to youtube?
youtube changed their code and broke the humax app. I’m sure humax will in time be forced to re-write their code to accommodate the youtube changes, but at the end of the day it’s a freesat box. I bought my freesat box to watch and record freesat, which it does, anything extra is a bonus and stuff like youtube is easily accessible via pc, android, smart tv, etc. etc. and a multitude of other devices.
A freesat box is a freesat box, and what I’ve been reading makes as much sense as somebody buying a new car because they smoke a lot and then moaning because the cigarette lighter doesn’t fit the new shape cigarettes that the tobacco company now produces after the tobacco company decided to change the design of the cigarette. The car still works as designed, i.e to get someone from A -> B, just as my freesat box still works i.e. watch, record and playback freesat.
Let us know what youtube say, and what their solution would be as it’s youtube that have changed their code and broken the humax youtube playback
