My itv 2 is glitching too, tried to reterminate the aerial lead and then to retune

I am in hospital at the moment Trog, I am sorry I can not reply as quickly as you would always like.

The issue I am having with channel 6 is that when I put the channel on it plays for less than 1 second then stops & doesn’t resume. The issue ceased for a short while then returned. If anyone else is experiencing any issues with Channel 6 or indeed any other channels this information would be helpful. No other comments are needed. Thank You.

When I read your first post I looked at ITV2 for while and had no problem but today I did see it freezing though ITV2+1 is fine so all is not lost, just before I had been having the same happen today on More4 and sent this email to Humax…..

Problems still exist but today I noticed a change, live More4 (channel 18) is usually good during the day with just a rare random picture freeze that is solved by advancing the channel forward then back to Mor4 however just now it froze when the ad break started and channel change only cured the problem for a split second then froze again, this continued to happen for all the ad’s until the program started again where it ran without issue until the next ad break where the freezing repeated again. Is there any news on the major update we have been promised? I still live in hope that it will cure the problems I have endured for months now.

PS another ad break just started and it’s frozen again. Surely this must give a clue to what is causing the problem.

I am assuming that the broadcasters are doing something that the Aura cannot cope with as that is the only explanation for it only affecting the ad breaks on More4 even though it seems to be affecting ad’s and programme on ITV2. It may well be a similar cause to the issues I have had for months on the minor channel 4 off shoot channels and I can only suggest anyone suffering the problem reports it to Humax as even though I have constantly complained to them their excuse for not acting is because not enough people have reported the problem. There were black screen and freezing faults last year on SkyArts, SkyMix and a few other channels and that was only solved by a Humax update.

My Itv2 works then freezes itv2 +1 is OK too.

I just checked and ITV2 seems ok but More4 is still having the issue but it is getting stranger, I looked late last night and ITV2+1 and E4+1 were also freezing with E4+1 still freezing now also ITV4 .Film4 black screen with just a audio cutting in and out.

what I can tell now is that we’ve reported it internally to the relevant team already, first they’ll try to replicate the issue on their own devices, then will look for the root cause.

On our initial checks based on user reports it looks like channels of the D3&4 mux are affected.

If you personally also experience this issue, would you please try something for me? If you start a recording on the live TV while a chanel is blank, would the box record anything?

Okay so I made a recording (last half hour) of The Swimmer which was showing on Film 4 one of the channels I reported earlier of being blank with intermittent audio.

Switched over to Film 4 and as earlier in the day the channel was blank with intermittent audio.

Regardless I pressed the record button on the remote control.

After recording concluded I went to play.

At first the screen was blank and no progress was being made on the timeline.

Pressing the up arrow above OK on the remote showed the 10 second thumbnails of the recording which were populated with stills from the movie. Clicking right to advance over the frames would not start the recording either.

Pressing the fast forward button did not do anything at first but after a few attempts at 8x got the first flickering signs of ‘life’.

Eventually the recording started and played out with pictures and audio.

Now switching over to Film 4 I see that there are pictures and sound, same with ITV 2, ITV 4, E4 +1, More 4 and STV +1, the ones I reported earlier as having issues.

Will report back tomorrow to see if the situation goes back to being problematic.
