InactiveFor the last few days I have been unable to access BBC iPlayer from my Foxsat HDR boxes (I have two). ITV Player loads and works fine, but BBC iPlayer (Channel 901) displays the “Press Red” screen then, on pressing Red Button, just displays a blank screen. I can get out of it just by pressing Channel Up or Down, so it’s not actually freezing the box. I have checked the broadband connection and have managed to get iPlayer on my PC, so the service itself is not down.
Any ideas?
Many thanks
Keith

InactiveThanks for trying it out. I guess it must be something specific since it works for Gomezz but not for Graham or me. I’ll keep investigating.

InactiveMine has started doing the same; hangs on loading iPlayer, but ITV player works fine.

InactiveI also have had this problem for about the last week. As in the above cases the itv player still works and I have tried both static and DHCP addresses without resolving the issue.

InactiveThis pm it failed to load on BBC News HD but worked on BBC Parliament. Could be just a coincidence and they are fiddling with it to fix reported problems across a range of devices, breaking it in other ways as they go.

InactiveI’ve had exactly the same problem recently. Sometimes OK during the day but during the past two weeks it rarely completes loading in the evening – which is mainly when we and other folk, I guess, tend to use ‘catch up TV’. Once I was very impressed with iplayer: not so sure now or is it a problem with Humax?

InactiveMike
I got all excited when I saw your post and am very pleased your problem is fixed. Unfortunately mine is still not loading. In fact ITV Player is now showing the same problem on mine. However, today I had to report a BT line fault, because my broadband has slowed down due to a noisy line, so that could have affected it. I’ll keep monitoring and post if and when mine is resolved.

InactiveNever had a problem with my foxsat hdr until tonight when neither bbc or itv replay services would work after red button stage, just a blank screen. Not froze either and broadband working fine.

InactiveYes – that’s exactly what’s been happening to mine (both boxes)- ie blank screen after red button but not frozen. Surely somebody out there must have an answer, even if not a fix?

ParticipantJust checked my Foxsat. Iplayer is working OK. Selected content in higher quality loaded near instantly.

InactiveI’m having the same problem as Godzilla. ITV Player was similarly affected for a few days but is now OK (fingers crossed…) Mine seems to have occurred since the channel numbers were reassigned (last week??)
Also, since then, when changing channels it sometimes happens (about 50 – 60% of the time) that the channel name bar at the bottom of the screen comes up, I get about a second of sound with a black screen, sound goes off for a second or 2 and then both correct picture and sound come on. Sometimes get a second or 2 of a white noise screen before picture and sound come on. Any thoughts??

InactiveAfter a visit to my local Humax dealer I did as advised by the engineer: unplug the box for an hour or more then switch on again, retune and search for software updates. iplayer loaded OK – albeit slowly and I thought it was fixed. Tried today – still hanging so I’m still without iplayer – shall I give up and buy a cheap Blu-ray player with iplayer?? Someone must have an answer – what about the guys at Humax? Do any of them watch this forum?
