What software version do you have?

InactiveFHTCP1.00.04 updated15/7/2010 ( it seems to be an old version but I understood it updated automatically?)

ModeratorThat is the problem old software.
It should update if left in standby overnight, and you are receiving the HD mux – when OTA is on air of course.
Options:
Wait for next OTA
Upload via usb

InactiveThanks Barry
I will try for an update tonight (normally I turn the Humax off overnight so that might be the problem). Speak tomorrow..

ModeratorThe update is not being broadcast at the moment, commences again Fri 6 July at 10 am, so if left in standby unit should update overnight Fri/Sat.

InactiveHi, I have same problem and see that my version is the July 2010 one too. Have just tried ‘automatic update’ which has made no difference, how do I get hold of the 1.02.28 version on a USB as it says Internet not connected.
Thanks, Sian

You do not need the box connected to the internet for updating via usb.
Options:
1. Wait for the next OTA which commences on 16 July or
2. Update via USB see this link for software and update instrucions:

InactiveMy 14 year old son has helped me to download the software onto USB and we have printed off instructions to upload this onto my Humax box. We had box on standby, put in USB, then switched ON using standby button and the message on box was BBC one, there was a tiny icon image of a USB stick but nothing happened? we tried also with the tv screen on, looking at software version which still said July 2010. Any suggestions?

InactiveDid you follow the download instructions? See here

InactiveIf you still have problems after following the instuctions in the link above, it may be worth checking these general USB Flash download guidlines, NOTE you are best to have the TV on so you can see the progress of the download :-
* Remove any other USB devices and power cycle twice (waiting for HDD spin down each time)
*Do not use a USB extender cable
*Removing all other files / re-formatting can prevent file fragmentation
*Try both USB ports (HDR)
*As a last resort, try a different USB Flash Drive
Also the progress bar will pause, usually at 79%, 89% and 99% to be patient

InactiveHa ha, yes, my son had downloaded into a folder so once he extracted it out it worked fine – only difference to instructions was that it said the display would say ‘Successful download’ when in fact it just said ‘End’.
Just a query, why had my box not automatically updated at all since July 2010?

how do you leave the box overnight: in standby, active or with the power turned off at the mains? Leaving it in standby is the best way to ensure automatic updates happen.

ModeratorWhen the update is complete ‘End’ will appear on the front display, “Download Successful will appear on the TV.
Unit has to be in standby overnight to automatically update via OTA when broadcast.
