InactiveI can get a get a connection to the Humax TV portal using WiFI via a Humax dongle all OK.
However when I try to connect to my laptop for photos or Videos, it shows the network as available but fails with the message “No server found”.
Has anyone any ideas please?

Is Content Sharing enabled on the Humax? Menu>Settings>System>Internet Setting>Content Sharing

ParticipantYou need a DLNA server set up on your laptop with the content you want to view remotely shared. Windows Media Player is a DLNA server. I use Sony Playmemories software on my laptop.

I don't have a HDR2000T but I imagine the HDR FOX T2 is similar.

InactiveHi Graham
Thanks for your prompt reply.
I eventually managed to set up Windows Media Player after a lot of trial and error, it’s not at all user friendly to an old codger like me!
I’ve just downloaded playmemories in the hope that it is easier to use than Windows Media player.
Regards
Dale

It’s pretty automatic. Firstly can the Humax box see the server ?. It will take a while for the software to scan your PC for suitable content.

Try the Menu Tools – Update database.
Also might be a good idea to reboot your laptop after the database update.

InactiveI will just add make sure your laptop network (if it is running a recent version of Windows)is defined as a home network otherwise normal sharing is disabled on that network.

InactiveI’ve just tried this on my 2000T. I run Serviio on my PC, but I assume the other media players mentioned will work ok.
To connect to the Humax try, on the Humax, selecting Menu then Humax TV Portal. The Portal connects up to the internet, so you can choose YouTube etc.. If this doesn’t work then you have a wifi connectivity problem.
Now exit the Portal. Play video, or whatever, as normal on the Humax, and once you’ve got your list of recordings up press the blue button for Storage. You should now find Network selectable as an alternative to HDD. Select that, then work your way through the menu to your media player.

ParticipantIt isn’t clear to me whether you are trying to play content from the Humax on your PC or to display content from the PC on the TV via the Humax?

InactiveHello Martin.
What I would really like to do (apart from give up!) is to be able to show pictures in one specific folder on the PC. When using Windows Media player (WMP)as the DLNA (whatever that means)the Humax tries to show ALL the pictures on my PC after a long time thinking. I can’t seem to get WMP or Playmemories to set up the single folder.

What format are the photos in and what’s the pixel dimensions ?
If you copy some to a usb stick/hard drive will the box display them ?

InactiveUse Serviio. You can select folders (I just use the one) from which you want to share media, and for each one select the type of media you want to share (in my case, all). It’s also good at reformatting video on the fly.

The formats are all *.jpg and typically 3264×2448 pixels. If the files are copied to a stick or external hard drive they display without problem.

Should work. In playmemories Tools – Settings – Add Folder
Navigate to the folder if not ticked toggle a tick. The contents should now appear.
I use playmemories because it’s the only way to import long HD takes split into multifiles by my Sony camcorder (FAT32 FS restrictions) without losing audio at the split points.
