InactiveHello
I am hoping that somebody may be able to help me…. I have recently purchased a Humax 1800 & have discovered the problem with it not recording in standby – I have also seen today that there is a software update to fix this problem however when I do a software update search on the humax box it says there isn’t any new software!?!? My software version is showing as July 2014.
I only have an ipad in the house – no computer & no wifi connection to the Humax box so how do I get the update onto the box?
Also I am having problems with BBC 1 & 2 with it blipping out saying no or weak signal. I have checked the signal in the settings & it says it has 91% & 100% in the two respective areas. I have also read up about the dual transmitter & done a manual retune with the settings as advised by the free view website for my area & this has not fixed the problem.
I am finding both of these issues quite frustrating especially as I bought the box purely to record when I am not at home & also as 90% of my television viewing is BBC 1&2!!! Tempted to return the box & revert to the standard iplayer functionality of my ipad!
I would be very grateful if anybody could help….
Many thanks

ParticipantIt is not being transmitted OTA which explains why a software search fails. Download the software from the link in the post above yours and then follow the procedure in this link Updating software link

It is an official update and the record from standby (or not) bug has been fixed. In the zip folder is a text file that describes the software changes, and gives installation instructions.

It is official and would not have been made available via this forum without the approval of Humax.

ModeratorSoftware now available from Humax support site:
http://www.humaxdigital.com/uk/products/product_releases.php?gid=554&pid=6
In addition IP download has also been enabled:
• The product will need to be left in Standby overnight
• The product will check at 4.30am for any software updates
• If connected to the Internet the download will be detected
• When the product is next switched on it will prompt the user to update.

Just to confirm: it doesn’t appear to need to be updated overnight – I’ve just updated my new 1800T via IP connection in “real time”.
I setup the Hummy out of the box and checked that it was connected to network OK, then put into standby.
When I brought it up again, it immediately asked if I wanted to update, and I now have 1.01.06

(I did attempt an automatic OTA as part of the setup which reported no update available, however not sure if this might have triggered the IP update)

Inactivestill have failed to get the update using the memory stick so I thought this on line method would provide a solution.
I checked I could play programmes in Iplayer to prove I had an internet connection.
Then went
Settings+Installation+Software Updates
Automatic Updates
but after searching for a minute or so it reported nothing found.
I am assuming it can be done on demarnd not at 4.30 am.
Any ideas?

juliang – that’s exactly what I did, then put it into standby.
When I started it up a bit later it prompted me to run the update, so this must have been downloaded over the internet sometime between scanning for an OTA update and bringing it back out of standby.
Prior to this the software was 1.00.27 (23/07/2014)- after this it had been updated to 1.01.06 (16/08/2014)
<edit>I’d probably logged into the Humax TV Portal at some stage to see what was available, so I wonder if the new software was downloaded at that point </edit>

InactiveLeft it on all night in standby – blue light – connected to web but no up date.
Still shows software as UKTFAC 1.OO.25 27 June.
Two thoughts
– is it possible to switch off updating and
– can the 1.00.06 software be installed without first installing the 1.00.27?

If the blue light is showing it isn’t in standby which would be the dim red light.

InactiveI am getting confused by the light(and I can not see a reference in the manual)
