InactiveThe new box does not have a built in hard drive so presumably other versions will be a phased introduction to the market. Soon I hope!

Personally disappointed. given the capability to use a Sky-Q wideband lnb, would have expected 3 or more tuners instead of just two. Given the FVP-terrestrial models allow up to 4 recordings and include channel-4-HD and all-4 catch up.
4K capability of limited use to those with 4K TV’s many of which offer Netflix and (prime- already with some content in 4K-HDR). If the box lacks support for iplayer 4K UHD – HLG content) it’s already outdated.
Can’t see it offers anything a G2 Freesat Humax box already has,

…with these comments attached…
“Our Recordable 4K TV Boxes are coming soon and will be available with 500GB, 1TB and 2TB of storage.”
“Our latest boxes are compatible with most UK satellite dishes so whether you’re switching from Sky+ or SkyQ, it’s simply a matter of plugging in your cables and you’re good to go!”
“The Recordable 4K TV Boxes can record up to 4 shows at the same time, depending on the type of satellite dish you have.”
On that last point there is no explanation as to what type of LNB they mean.

They mean either a two output Sky-q Wideband
or
A 6 output Hybrid lnb

InactiveRegarding LNB technology I know enough to get by, but really not a lot. So the 4-recordings capability would I believe be ruled out with my current setup of an eight-way LNB fed to a patch panel that has thirteen outlets. Patch as required. I’m not in any hurry to change for the sake of 4 simultaneous recordings.

Assuming the octal is aligned on 28.2E.
You would need to fit the 6 output hybrid lnb. Use two of the outputs connected to the new box and select wideband in setup. Use the remaining 4 to connect to a multiswitch that works with standard universal lnb’s.
How many satellite tuners do you actually need ? A 1 in 4 out switch would give you enough to run two more satellite PVr’s – no patching required.

InactiveAll that waiting for this. Blimey, why would anyone be leaving SkyQ for this offering? I can record up to six channels at once. Sorry I’m oot.

I can record 10 if you include my network streaming V-Box and it costs nothing.
