No. You need a Freesat box.

This is my setup freeview aerial to freesat box rf in

freesat rf out to 9150 in

    9150 rf out to tut

    freesat scart to 9150 scart

    9150 scart to tv

this setup works well, if freeview reception bad just switch freesat remote on and it takes over. wanted to know if same setup would work with 1010 seeing it has only 1 scart

Freeview aerial to Freesat box? Sorry, but I don’t see how that can possibly work.

Agreed, no Freesat box has UHF RF out, the only Radio Frequency input on a Freesat box has to be connected to a lnb on a dish, there is no RF output.

I think you are confusing RF and analogue scart connections.

Hard to comment without more info on your kit.

The Freesat box can be used as the first link in a scart chain to the TV via boxes with 2 scarts. Why you would need this is hard to explain. Normally a Freesat box will deliver digital pictures to a TV via HDMI, no analogue scart or RF connections are required.

Thanks yr answer most helpful, my freesat runs on a very old Sky box which doesn’t have HDMI . think when I get a 1010 will try some sort of rig with scart, would a scart direct from freesat to tv work?

Yes but will only deliver SD pictures (HD is downscaled). Not sure what you want to do.

Assuming your TV has hdmi in, there is no need to connect the 9150 and 1010S in any way (nor any advantage in doing so).

Basically 9150 connects by scart to the TV and is connected to your normal aerial

1010s connects by hdmi to the TV and is connected to your Sky dish (ideally by two cables).

I’mdiching the 9150 and replacing it with 1010, what I want to know if its possible to rig the freesat the same as before

No it won’t as the new box does not have the second SCART socket you need to support the SCART pass-through feature you have been using to view the (Freesat from) Sky box. You will have to resort to turning the RF channel channel used by the Sky box which will give an inferior signal.

TBH I think you should be upgrading your TV before you think about changing the 9150T.

Tks for the input, will have to go back to the drawing board.

My tv is 2yr old Panasonic with 2 hdmi ports so should be ok to run 1010

    Drawing board ?

    Fail to see any problem.

Your 9150 connects to its existing scart, the new box connects to one of the two hdmi ports.

To watch the Freeview box all you have to do is turn it on. Scart auto select should select the scart input on the TV.

To watch the freesat box you might have to use the TV remote to select the hdmi input the box is connected to. Look at the remote it will have a way of selecting which input is displayed on the TV.

It might be a button marked AV or a TV icon with a an arrow pointing in.

If in doubt read the TV manual.

Unfortunately the freesat/skybox does not have hdmi only 2 scarts

No problem with av on tv remote quite familiar with that, think only solution is to make freesat standalone and change aerial input on tv if necessary
