Having just installed my FVP 4000T without a hitch, including hooking up to my Plusnet home network for replay/on demand – that’s working OK – I cannot locate or display some test standard sized (<200Kb) jpeg photographs that I have placed in a ‘shared with everyone/read only folder’ situated on my home computer – Windows 10 Pro.

I’ve tried absolutely everything I can think of but must be missing something. Could anyone help me please?

Struggling to make this work using my 5000T. I have some .jpg files in my Pictures shared folder.

Freeview Play – Media – Selecting My Laptop – Pictures Folder – All Pictures shown no files.

I can play videos (recordings) on my HDR-FOX-T2. I will try uploading a few jpegs to it to see if this works.

Uploaded some jpegs to HDR-FOX-T2 photos. Photos folder not visible on 5000T only Video Recordings partition. Added a couple of jpegs to video folder, photos still not listed.

Looks like a bug to me.

Same on HDR-1000S. Video is no problem – no sign of photos.

I take it they play if you copy them to a usb stick. Shouldn’t be any issues at all they are tiny. There is known limit in handling very large files. If you try and play you get an error message giving max horizontal and vertical pixels. The resolution doesn’t matter, it only matters in determining the size they will print at. If you change the resolution (without resampling) from 100dpi to 200dpi if you print the image it will be half the size.

Sorry for the glitch in my reply. If I cannot display simple photos from my home computer to the TV this seems to be a quite serious bug?? WE can’t be the only ones? I’ll just go and read your link now.

Photos display OK from USB stick but not so convenient and flexible and possibly music at the same time…..

Thanks for that Barry. All I get on my Media – Photo screen is the message No Photo File available. Although I haven’t created a shared video folder on my computer I get the analogous message No Video File available.

What computer operating system do you use? If it is Windows 10 Pro could you write a step by step list of exactly what you do when sharing photo files. As far as I can remember I shared the photo and the folder. Do I need to share the photo aswell as put it in a shared folder? I’m feeling a bit of a dunce here where it should be a straightforward process?

Interesting – Just tried copying some to my Homegroup photos folder – still can’t see them.

Barry what do you see in your homegroup library folders in Windows Explorer ?

Have you got a homegroup set up ?
