InactiveIs this a further example of the notorious bug? Started at the end of last week, but most recordings are now failing. Resets, even a hard drive erase, still won’t do the job it’s supposed to do.
Anyone else experiencing this?

InactiveWhat’s really odd is that the HD channels aren’t affected – just the SD ones.

InactiveThe PSB2 MUX that carries ITV, Ch 4, Ch 5 etc has been screwed up since last Thursday. Both the now/next and EPG is, to put it politely, garbage at the moment. The errant now/next data will prevent any recordings using accurate record (AR) from working. If you can use padding then do so as they will work. The dodgy EPG data will also mess up any series links but if you schedule whilst tuned to a channel on the other MUXes they should be OK.

That is incredibly useful information – thanks. A shame the Humax helpdesk were unaware! Any idea how and when this will be resolved?

Any idea how and when this will be resolved? It’s not really Humax’s problem so not surprised they don’t know. I did read that the problem is due to the way PSB2 is being broadcast/distributed. PSB2 is now coded and multiplexed in the ‘cloud’ and it’s obviously not working correctly. Who knows when it will be fixed.

I can see why they’d have no idea what the problem is, but it’s a shame because they’re advising people to erase hard drives in order to try to resolve an obvious irresolvable problem.
Where exactly does the responsibility lie for fixing this? Obviously I’d like to involve myself in persuading them to sort it!

An ex-BBC employee has posted the following information on Hummy.tv:
“PSB2 aka D3&4 is now C&M in the cloud by BT for the companies concerned… https://www.mediaandbroadcast.bt.com/case-studies/coding-and-multiplex.html
Complaints to the Broadcasters (ITV, C4, C5) would be the correct route — plus Everything TV (aka Freeview) and maybe Ofcom.”
My understanding is that the information about the nature of the problem has been passed to Humax.
