Are the tuners in the Aura rubbish?
My Aura often displays a mini black screen in the top right hand side with a progress report on the programme selected, telling me that there is a problem with the signal.
On the TV the same programme which is connected to the same aerial lead without splitters or boosters the programme show up perfectly.
Any one been able to resolve this issue?

I don’t think they are rubbish but they are less sensitive than the tuners of earlier boxes. I think there were certainly some Auras that were sold with tuners that didn’t work very well.

I have never seen that behaviour although I have seen lots of odd behaviour.
Any one been able to resolve this issue?
The first question would be what is the signal strength and quality as reported by the Aura?
The Channel in question today is ITV Quiz which is showing a signal strength of 94% with a quality signal of 100%.
The TV still shows the channel perfectly.

There has been a long standing problem with the Aura only and some of the channels on the D3&4/PSB2 multplex. Currently ITV Quiz is the occasional problem.
Earlier this year Humax provided an update that was supposed to cure this problem. Unfortunately the multiplex operator stopped doing whatever they’re doing and it’s now obvious that the update didn’t work (as they’ve started doing it again).There are rumours of another update soon. We don’t know what it will do.
There are other problems reported with D3&4 and the EPG. It is likely that the source of the problem is the multiplex operator inserting rubbish into the data stream.All devices have the EPG problems, the Aura doesn’t appear to be resilient enough to cope with whatever is causing the blankng.
