InactiveHi, I have just bought a Freeview Humax Aura box and it is showing London News on BBC and ITV. Our old Virgin box gave us BBC and ITV news for the South East region which we would like to continue to receive. Is there a way to change this on the Humax Aura box? Our Aerial is pointing towards the Crystal Palace transmitter.
Many thanks in advance

I suspect you will need to do a manual tune. What is your postcode?

InactiveYou are bound to get the London local news from the Chrystal Palace transmitter so you would need to point your aerial at another transmitter, possibly Hemel Hempstead. Maybe check at Freeview.co.uk.

Hi Martin,
My Postcode is CM21
Sorry but I can’t see a way to get South East region news from that postcode. However I don’t live in that area and may be someone who does can suggest a solution. Have a look at the results I have used at https://www.freeview.co.uk/help/coverage-checker/detailed-view?postcode=CM219JX

InactiveHi Martin,
Thanks for your help. Looking at all the answers I think we are stuck with London local news unless we aim the aerial at another transmitter.

InactiveIf you really want news from the South East and your Aura is connected to the internet, or you are prepared to watch on a PC, tablet or smart phone, you could look at ITVX and iPlayer to see if you can access the news there. To watch live you may have to be creative with your postcode and pretend you are in the SE region. BBC regional news should be available shortly after it is broadcast. Not sure about ITVX but if you’re desperate for your fix of SE news it could be worth a look.

Before you abandon hope, there are two things you could do. Firstly you understandably only posted the first part of your postcode, the data will be more accurate if you send me a Private Message (Top right of the Forum page) giving your full post code. Secondly you might try talking to a local aerial installer to see if he knows a way to get South East region.

InactiveHi EEPhil,
Thanks for your suggestion. The reason we prefer the South East local news is because it covers items more relevant to our area than the London news does. It looks as though there isn’t a quick fix to change regions so we’ll just stick with it for now.

I now have the OPs full postcode and that does show a little bit of signal from the Bluebell Heath transmitter. It is a low signal but definitely worth talking to the aerial fitter to see whether he thinks it could be made to work.

InactiveHi Martin,
I will have a word with the Aerial fitter.
