Please can anybody help, I’ve been so stressed for weeks. got a Humax 9300 with a remote that is the rt-530b. Just got a new small tv for my Mom it’s a smart tv Sony Bravia KD32W800. It’s connected to the humax via hdmi but even though the Humax remote is working fine, the volume on it does not control the tv.

I’ve looked it up and had advice and apparently need to hold down the TV button and OK button and then put in a 3 digit code. I have 3 codes given to me by customer service but on this particular Humax remote there is only a standby button not a ‘TV’ button, when I press the standby button and OK only some funny channel list menu comes up and I don’t get any flashing light so I can enter the code. Even though my Mom has this new smart tv with all the apps and freeview etc. she hates at age 85 using all this new stuff, she likes the old fashioned humax guide and recording her favourite things but even when I’ve looked at the screen when viewing the tv from the humax it doesn’t look nice and clear like the actual tv does so even if I did get the volume button working, to me it doesn’t seem a nice quality picture even though she has a new tv and a new hdmi cable. If anyone lives close and can come and set it up she’d happily pay. I can’t get all the display sizing correct either, she doesn’t like a strip across the top and bottom she likes complete full screen but when I set that on the tv, the humax guide is now all stretched etc. etc.
