InactiveMy mother recently inherited a 500g FoxSat HDR but the remote she received does not seem to be a match. The instruction manual references Opt+ for a number of functions but there is no such button. Does it have a different label on more recent controllers? If it helps, the controller is slightly waisted but I can’t find any model number

InactivePossibly it is an unbranded replacement sold as an equivalent and bought to replace a lost or broken original. They aren’t always 100% compatible.

InactiveThe slightly waisted remotes are for some other models, and not for the Foxsat HDR.
The Humax Foxsat HDR’s remote is RM-F01. Unlike the later Humax freesat HDRs’ remotes it is not curvy and has an OPT+ button, along with about 10 other buttons not on any of the Humax curvy remotes.
Genuine RM-FM01 remotes have Humax RM-F01 on the front of the remote, although over time this can wear away.
There are clones of the RM-F01 that omit “Humax” on the front of the remote, but do state RM-F01 on the front. These can be usable but some have very stiff buttons. For those who have more them 1 Humax in the same room the clones don’t have the feature to stop the remote simultaneously operating both Humaxes. Some, also cannot be setup to also operate the TV.
However, the clones can be bought for as little as £4.49 on-line including postage.

No it appears to be genuine- it matches what I’ve seen in the manuals of other models.
It works for most functions but just not as easily as it would with Opt+ – trying to teach a 97 year old how to use a controller that doesn’t match the manual is tough!

Thanks – I’ll see if I can find one because while I can manage with this one for most things it is tough for my mother.

InactiveThanks all for the help. Found a reasonably priced clone on Amazon and it appears to work well.
