InactiveI have a humax aura.
when I go into the play store and place the cursor in the search box, i can only input numbers 1 – 9.
i would expect that pressing the OK or big round button would pop up a keyboard and allow me to enter text to search.
im sure im missing something obvious.
many thanks.

InactiveYou should be able to get a keyboard pop up on screen.
Try this.
From watching live TV press and hold the Apps button on the remote, your most recently used apps should be displayed, select Google Play Store.
On the Google Play screen click up to the top of the screen and highlight Search, click down the microphone symbol should be highlighted in white.
Click right so the cursor is now in the Search box.
Doing this should bring up the Keyboard.
Any luck?

InactiveI have since discovered , that when I go into
settings, device preferences, keyboard, manage keyboard
although gboard is selected as my default keyboard it is greyed out( you cant select or deselect it) and neither can you go into gboard keyboard settings,
so i guess the question is, on your system does your gboard setting appear to be configured correctly ?
many thanks.

InactiveUnder Manage Keyboards> Available Virtual Keyboards Gboard English (UK) is set to the on position but is greyed out.
Have look under Apps
Settings> Apps. See all apps click on Show system apps.
Scroll all the way down the list to Gboard and click.
It should say Force Stop and Disable to indicate the app is working.
If not you may have to start it/ Enable it.

Inactivethanks for your response, although stictly speaking it was not the answer it gave me the inspiration to “uninstall updates” which reinstalled the factory settings for keyboard.
Now up and working.
i would never have found that menu so thanks again for your help.
