    Hi,

    I recently purchased a ‘compatible’ replacement remote from eBay to replace the failing one on my HDR-FOX T2.

    The new remote doesn’t appear to have an Opt+ button, and although I can work out how to delete recordings without it, I’m not seeing a method of removing folders that are created with linked recordings.

    Is there anyway of deleting the folders without the Opt+ button?

    Many thanks.

    One possible solution is to install the IR package as part of the Customised Firmware from https://hummy.tv/forum/forums/hd-hdr-fox-t2-customised-firmware.28/.

    The Customised Firmware would need to be installed first and then the IR package.

    Then map a key that you would not use such as LIST (if it is on your new remote). I have done this to change LIST which is code 4d for Opt+ which is code 42.

    You may also like to post your question on the hummy.tv forum for other ideas.

    In addition to installing the very useful “Customised Firmware”, (which is an add-on not a replacement so everything you are used to doing remains the same), and then using any of the various solutions (and others) that plj1946 suggests:

    If the folders are at the top level:

    1/ Create a recording that you don’t mind deleting so that you can see it on the same page as some of the folders you want to delete. I.e. the top level You can do this by making a short instant recording;

    2/ Using the red button select the folders you want to delete that are on the same page as the recording which you don’t mind being deleted;

    2b/ Using the red button also select the disposable recording (while keeping the unwanted folders still selected);

    3/ Check that you haven’t selected anything that you don’t want to delete;

    3/ Move the focus to the recording;

    4/ Press OK;

    5/ On the resulting pop-up select “Delete” and press OK.

    If the folder is not at the top level, this will because you previously moved it using the original remote. To use the same technique to delete you will have to connect to the HDR-FOX T2 via a PC using FTP, and via FTP move a recording on to the same level as the folder(s) you want to delete.
