InactiveI bought a Humax PVR9300T 320GB in 2009 and, until recently, had no problems with it. But because I could not eliminate a problem (see below), I have bought a new Humax Aura UHD 1TB Recorder which I am getting used to.
The problem was that the aerial signal through the old PVR to my TV kept partially or totally cutting out.
If I plugged the aerial direct into the TV there was no problem.
At first this appeared to be poor connection of one or both coax plugs into the PVR. When I jiggled them I could sometimes get a clear picture for a short while.
I tried new coax leads but with the same result.
So as well as not being able to reliably record programmes, I was not able to watch programmes already recorded on the PVR.
I looked inside the PVR to see if there was any loose connection to coax sockets but those sockets are contained within a unit connected directly into the printed circuit board.
Because I am not sufficiently experienced to be able to carry out further diagnosis and because of the age of the PVR, it seems that I will have to send it to the tip unless you can offer any suggestions.
Meanwhile is there a way of transferring programmes and films recorded on the old PVR to the new Aura PVR either directly or via my PC for a two-stage transfer?
Regards,
Roger Pattenden

The PVR-9300T uses a proprietary file system so the only way to download the programmes is using HumaxRW software, see the FAQ at https://myhumax.org/forum/topic/humaxrw. Come back and ask questions if you are having problems using it. NB I haven’t managed to copy programmes on to the Aura.

NB I haven’t managed to copy programmes on to the Aura.
I have.
I haven’t found a way of doing it from a USB device, although programmes might be playable using, for example, VLC.
It’s possible to upload programmes from a PC to the Aura. Using a wired network connection I’ve used FTP to transfer the programmes to the movies folder on the Aura. Again it needs something like VLC to play them.
