Hi my old HDR1100S suddenly stopped working yesterday. I tried a couple of restarts and it tried to fire up then nothing. No signal to the TV and no lights. The HDD doesn’t try and spin up either.
The unit still gets warm so it’s not a power supply problem. I’ve popped the lid off and have a replacement 1TB HHD on the way which I’ll fit later. Is there anything else I should try in the meantime?

Does the pvr work ok without hard drive attached? If it does, then I would guess that the hard drive either has a fault preventing it booting correctly or something else going on.
If you have already purchased hard drive, it’s very easy to fit & the Humax should work ok with it once fitted. You just go into the settings and format the drive. It’s then ready for recording. John L
So, just fitted the HDD and still no signs of life. It’s definitely getting power as the heatsink warms up (new thermal paste applied) but still no lights or sound of the drive starting. Not sure where to go next . Thank you for your help so far
BTW thank you for the warm welcome and no the pvr doesn’t work with or without the drive.
