Recently it appears there’s been a change and now when I go onto a YouTube user’s channel I can’t return to the previous main page as the arrow (- previously on the lefthand side has disappeared, meaning I have to leave the YouTube app and then re-enter it again. Hard to describe exactly but hopefully others will see what I mean.

What happens if you press the Return or Exit button? On my Chromecast dongle that is what is used to go back.

Nothing I’m afraid. No buttons on the remote will get me back to the previous screen once I’m on a user’s channel, where I can only hit ‘play mix’ or ‘subscribe’ as well as watch the channel’s videos obv. This all started just a couple of days ago. I don’t use a dongle so that option isn’t open to me.

It’s up there with the slow as hell fast forwarding/10 sec at a time skip function as the most annoying ‘feature’ of the youtube app.

Recently the screen is getting full of pointless and ever expanding splash ads, and ‘sign in’ popups just to annoy users a little bit more.

The iplayer app is not much better.

They meddle constantly making things worse, but never fix anything

…and now for the past couple of days the YouTube icon has disappeared from the screen on both my 4000T and 5000T machines. Hopefully YouTube will return to Humax soon!

the cleaner appears to be unplugging their server a little too frequently, it would be nice if they got their act together.
