InactiveHello,
Have the following issue with FVP 5000T, can record from BBC Four without any problems, but when I try to play the recording back, all I get is a black screen, brids singing.
Has done a full re-tune, but this did not fix the issue.
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks

InactiveWhich 5000T is this your original one or the one you bought recently.
Were both boxes bought new or second hand.
Is this BBC 4 HD or BBC 4 SD.
Have you tried recording both.
Do the boxes record other channels okay.
Did you ever resolve your remote control problems.

InactiveWas the recording at 7pm?
I have found that if the recording starts before the channel comes on air properly then what you described happens. I have found no way to watch the recording on the Humax. As far as I can tell, the recording is there and if you use the SD version it may be possible to save the recording to a USB stick and play the recording on your computer. Not an ideal solution! If the recording is HD then you can’t recover it.
No amount of retuning will solve this problem – if this is what you are describing. It needs Humax to fix the fault.

InactiveSet both my Aura and 5000T to record Yorkshire Walks on BBC $ HD and BBC 4 SD at 7pm.
Both boxes indicate that recordings have taken place. Trying to play them is a different matter.
All four recordings do not have a picture only sound and interestingly the subtitles also show.
I guess you would need to ask Humax about this, please note that BBC 4 tends to repeat programmes later the same night. Yorkshire Walks is repeated at 12:30am, you could try recording that broadcast instead of the earlier 7pm broad.cast.

InactiveI’ll have to look at whether older machines (2000T and 9150T) also have this problem.
If the Aura also has this “feature” then I despair!

InactiveRecorded BBC4 at 7pm on three Himaxes. 9150T and 2000T playable. 5000T fails. Looks like a fault introduced into Himaxes from 4000T/5000T onwards

InactiveThat is interesting, what could it be about the new Humax boxes that don’t record the video of that particular broadcast.
I wonder if this is a recent thing as I can not remember any other posts over the lifespans of the Aura and the 5000T regarding a similar problem.
I will set to record a programme on BBC 3 at 7pm, (service startup) to see if the problem exist there also.
And I will set a record for ITV +1 at 9PM when that channel starts broadcasting to see if the problem is a BBC broadcasts issue only or affects other late starting channels.

I blame autocorrect for those spelling mistakes!

InactiveBBC and ITV might be different. The CBeebies/BBC4 stream can be recorded across the 7pm junction using a TV dongle in a PC. I don’t think ITV3+1 can be.

InactiveI was wrong! The same problem occurs on a 5000T at 7pm on BBC3 and 9pm on ITV3+1.

InactiveOkay so I recorded the Women’s football on BBC3 at 7pm on my 5000T, this was successful. Pictures and sound.
I chose to record the two previous intro programmes before the football started so I wonder if that made the difference.
I also set up a recording of BBC 4 at 7pm of Yorkshire Walks (including the BBC 4 intro) and that worked too, pictures and sound.
Set up ITV +1 to record at 9pm, no pictures only sound.
Now for the Aura, recordings set for BBC 4 at 7pm and ITV +! at 9pm, BBC 4 no sound or pictures, ITV +1 sound only.
BBC3 7pm, recording of The Catch Up (10 minutes news programme no pictures no sound)
The womens football recorded with sound and vision, but because of padding time set up in Settings the Aura did record with pictures and sound the last minutes of The Catch Up, which it was not able to do as a standalone recording.
All very bizarre.
