InactiveWhen I set up shows to tape they won’t tape and I can’t use the tape button either to instantly tape. I was getting messages about incorrect formatting but have re formatted at least 4 times now and it still won’t tape. Can anyone offer any advice?

InactiveHi Rochie, are you using VHS or Betamax tapes? They won’t work in the Humax (only joking! It’s nearly Christmas – you mention taping).
Seriously, be interested to know which model of Humax. Is it one of the older models: 9200 / 9300? John L

InactiveThat’s an Australian model, it’s unlikely to work in the UK.

That would explain why. You need to use a UK PVR. Many good models available. John L

Has it occurred to you that Rochie might actually live in Australia?
Then the tapes would have to be upside down?

InactiveIf this a new Humax? Has it ever worked properly?
What sometimes works with UK models is to switch off at the plug. Leave for a while (some models have required longer than others – anything from power on immediately, 5 minutes or even 30 minutes have been suggested). Power on and see if this sorts out the problem. Or try Factory Default. Both of these are the standard response from the UK Humax help people. Sometimes the Humax gets confused and powering off completely resets things, so it does work – sometimes. If you reformat without powering off (not obvious that formatting was needed) then the underlying confusion won’t be cleared. If you have already tried this then you could be looking at a hardware fault.

Yes I read that bit. It should work ok in Australia unless there is a fault with Hard drive. John L

Hopefully it should be ok now. Always worth a try as a first solution.
