    Hi the internal hard drive in my HDR 1100s has broken. If get an exernal hard drive(Western Digital 1 TB My Passport Portable) like this the one in the link below will I be able to record again. Thanks for any advice.

    Simple answer….no

    You can only record to the internal HDD.
