I Can’t copy any recording to USB. The USB flashes, but doesn’t stop flashing!

Normally, I copy recordings to play on a HDR2000 in another room after renaming .recordings to recordings (removing the full stop) this has worked OK in the past.

I have formatted two USB’s but it still won’t work.

    Any ideas please?

How are you formatting the USB storage? What are the storage capacities of the drives?

    64Gb exFAT & FAT32 16GB

I’ve tried a 1tb Samsung portable drive & although it was still flashing, I managed to copy two programs over to the HDR2000.

It used to stop flashing when a copy had completed. Never tried with the other two usb’s as there was no “recordings” folder. Didn’t check with the Samsung drive.

As far as I know exFAT won’t work. I think the supported file systems are ext3, FAT32 or NTFS. You said in your original post “I have formatted two USB’s”; please tell us how you formatted them?

    it’s started working again!

FAT32 USB / Copy / stopped flashing when completed copying.

    Haven’t done anything differently.

I have changed the format of the 64GB Usb though.

Good, I was wondering if Windows 10 had used a GPT style partition table and I don’t know for certain whether that is supported on an FVP-5000T. There is a fairly simple way of finding out using the procedure in this link https://www.softthinks.com/how_to/How%20to%20know%20if%20my%20USB%20Drive%20is%20using%20GPT%20or%20MBR%20partition%20style.html If you have time it would be interesting to know what partition style the USB that works is using and whether the one that doesn’t work is using the same style?

After clicking on your hyperlink, RT clicking on Start doesn’t display the same menu.

I am using the Shell startup menu.

Sometimes, the copying works, but only once the USB stopped flashing. Then, the blue triangle (top right) disappeared, but usually, it keeps turning until I stop the copying.

This morning, I tried to copy two episodes of “Would I Lie to You”. Only one copied, and after that (on the 5000) it wouldn’t play because of “invalid file format”, but it played on the Humax 2000 that I had transferred it to.

I then copied the other episode to another USB.

I suppose that if I give it about 15min per 1hour to record, I can then stop the copying manually?

I have in the past, experienced endless blue triangle rotations, then nothing on the USB. Maybe that was on the one with exFAT?

Sometimes it works, & it even stops flashing. Sometimes, although it has still been flashing, it has copied the program.

Today, it was still flashing 1.5hrs later, & it had not copied!

Should “Move” remove the program after it has been copied?
