InactiveI’m new to the forum so please excuse me if this topic has been covered elsewhere. When I launch the Apple TV ap I can watch trailers for shows but all other content is either pixelated on half the screen or I get a message saying that content is not available and to check the internet connection. I am properly logged in and have no problems streaming on other devices. I’ve tried all the usual stuff ie powering the Aura off and on, changing from Ethernet to WiFi, logging out of other devices etc. Any help would be appreciated.

InactiveSame issue. Anything on Apple TV I try and watch which I have purchased separately doesn’t work but if you have a subscription to it, any shows or films are ok. Luckily I have Apple TV app on my tv so the aura version being goosed isn’t an issue. I know that doesn’t help but at least it’s not something down to you.

That’s interesting, as I also have a subscription and can get stuff no problem via my Apple TV box but nothing via the Aura box

Sorry. I was working from old info. What I stated was true weeks ago…and now trying it today nothing works at all – the situation you find yourself in.

InactiveUgh – exactly the same problem with Apple TV on the Aura here:
“Video Unavailable – There is a problem loading this video. If this continues, please check your internet connection”
Is there any solution to this? It’s a bit ironic considering the Apple app is allegedly a kosher one, unlike my sideloaded Netflix one which works fine…

InactiveI had this issue, turns out my TV cant handle Ultra HD and the settings in the Apple TV app were set to Ultra, so matched tapp settings to same as TV and it all works fine

Well interestingly, in fact there is a setting which allows you to restrict viewing to SD only (I can’t remember the exact wording). I just tried that and was then able to view Apple content, in SD.
I don’t have (or want) an Ultra HD TV, but I do have an HD one which works very nicely for my needs: I’m certainly not going to watch SD stuff though. Firstly, I don’t see why the Apple app works as “Ultra” or “SD” only, with nothing in between, and secondly, why it can’t work out for itself what type of output it needs. Who is responsible for it? Is it Apple?

InactiveI have raised a case with Apple about this issue of their app not working on the aura.

InactiveI would be interested to hear how you got on with Apple Support regarding this issue

InactiveI found that a movie I purchsed in itunes didn’t work properly in the apple+ app, displaying lots of visual glitches. An apple+ tv show played ok. Setting the app to only play in SD didn’t make any difference.

InactiveI have just purchased an Aura box. First impresssion is ok, but one of reasons for buying was the Apple TV app to watch my purchased content on Apple.
Have found problems with playing back content on Apple app.
Some of my films play back ok, but a lot shows “Video content not Available “ or half the screen seems pixelated.
Looking at past posts in the form I have set the Apple app to output SD only, but problem still exists.
Some of my library Comtet is quite old, but checking the output resolution of the Humax it seems Apple is outputing at a resolution at or below 720 at 24fps. My tv is an old LG HD model and I have no trouble playing back blue disks or using Games consoles. Humax box suggests it may be a network problem, by my system is fibre to the box with a speed in excess of 270Mbs.
Has any one found a reliable solution to this problem

InactiveThe whole thing is a complete balls up from start to finish I certainly won’t be buying Humax products in the future.

InactiveHi posted this reply on another thread but think we found a work-around
We had same issue. Apple TV starts with titles sequence then drop in to “Video not available. Check your internet connection” – we tinkered with the below, think Point#1 to use SD only is key for old televisions!
1. Settings changed to SD only (have old TV that doesn’t support HDUltra HD)
2. Reset Apple TV so re-enabled a/c (just started 3 month trial so checking a/c enabled correctly, ensure SD only is re-checked)
3. Uninstalled Apple TV App and re-installed (ensure SD only is re-checked)
4. Settings Location Services disabled (reduce trafficactivity for the App)
5. Settings Data Analytics disabled (reduce trafficactivity for the App)
6. Switched from Wifi to Ethernet connection
None of the above made much difference, broadband speeds are relatively reliable, and has same error.
We then tried watching on an iPad tablet beyond the opening credits and then resuming on the TV Apple TV App – which picked-up from where it finished and this apporach worked fine.
The next step was to “fast forward” immediately to go beyond the opening credits to a similar point ~30 seconds in to the show and again Apple TV App on the TV worked fine. It appears as soon as you pass the bump of the opening credits the episode plays so long as also having SD only setting enabled
Hope that helps
