InactiveI currently have FVP-5000T. Is it worth upgrading? Is it better in every way compared to FVP-5000T?

Any particular reason you’re so against it?

InactiveI have had a 4000t since they came out. It still has problems and Humax support for the 4000t/5000t is pretty much none existant now.
From reading this forum, it is obvious that the Aura has far, far too many niggles at present.
For the majority of people, who just want a box to record their favourite soaps etc, I am sure it is fine but as a high-end, multimedia, interconnective device it just has too many software/operating system/app issues.

Thank you for that; I have been on the edge of buying an Aura for some time and that offer has just tipped the scales and I can confirm the code works.

Ok, we’ll as an owner of one, I haven’t had any problems so far. A couple of improvements I’d like, which I e mailed them about, which they’ve said they would send to the engineers to look at so all good so far

InactiveIf you are thinking about buying an Aura.
Had an email from Humax Direct this morning with code AURA50 for £50 off either a 1TB or 2TB model at checkout.

InactiveI have a 1Tb 4000T and mainly use it to watch Netflix and a small amount of recorded TV.
My only issue with the 4000T is that it is very slow with button presses.
Do you think I would benefit from getting an Aura ?

InactiveI had the email last night. I thought it was triggered because I looked at it earlier in the day, but it seems not.
I have been watching this Forum so carefully and have been dithering whether to take the plunge or not, but thought at £199 it was a no brainer to replace my FVP4000T….. it’s due tomorrow hopefully.
It will be interesting to see if I get any of the signal issue problems that some people seem to have. Currently for all it’s dreadfully slow interface, my 4000 has ben flawless with regard to recordings and has never missed a recording….. time will tell.
Think I will run them side by side to start with to see how they compare.

InactiveI received the same offer email from Humax, I also decided to take the plunge and ordered one this morning. Hopefully, it will load and display the channel information (TV Guide) better than the old FVP5000T.

InactiveWell compared to my Humax T2 it’s much faster

InactiveAgreed, it’s blazingly fast compared to my 4000.
So many settings to look at, just trying to get the TV, Humax and Home Cinema to turn on/off with one click now….
