    On my new FVP5000t there is a straightforward search facility. Twice now I have searched for a program I know will be broadcast the next day or so and yet it failed to find it. Last night it failed to find the new BBC drama VERA and yet had no problem finding other programs to be broadcast the same evening. Any ideas anyone?

    Search for Vera working here.

    Please describe exactly what procedure you are using to search, just in case you are inadvertently doing something wrong?

    Sorry..I meant vigil not vera. I have just tried it again and it will not find it.

    1. PRESS the Q button which gives letters A to Z

    2. I OK the appropriate letter etc.

    2. I get vigil as the search word but the program is not found. It finds lots of other stuff. Its a simple process.

    I just tried it and after I typed the last letter of Vigil I had to go back up into the box where the word was formed up and then press OK. Then the listings appeared. Before that final OK, there was nothing.

    As I suspected (because the search procedure is a bit odd) you aren’t quite doing it correctly (as pointed out by A1944)

    When you are entering a search term, the results in the list are suggestions but not necessarily the programme you are looking for. Because the “search by xxxx” appears greyed out when the alphabet is displayed, it is easy to skip straight down past it to the suggestions and be frustrated by the result.

    But scroll down just once to “search by vigil” (in your case) and press OK and it will work as you expect it to.

    It worked…many thanks. Your right the procedure is a bit odd. Thanks again. Over and out.

    @glacier

    Thanks for drawing my attention to Vigil. I have seen Ep1 today and looking forward to watching Ep2, which is recording as I type.

    This always works.

    1. Press the search button on the remote

    2. Type in four characters

    3. Press the search button on the remote

    And how will that work if the programme title only has three letters?

    However, pressing the search button a second time is a good find.
