ParticipantAs a test I recorded 3 SD channels from com 6 – Signal Strength 90% Quality.
33 Sony Movies My Neighbours Keeper
23 Deja Vu Rick Steins India
26 Yesterday Narrow Escapes of World War ii
All recordings played back with no pixellation or audio loss.
Just the usual low picture quality due to low bitrates used.

This thread relates to some specific issue, with a particular box?
It should have been in the Aura HD threads.
Some are reporting issues with pixelation on DVB-T SD content when using multiple tuners. I lost track of the posts after agreeing to set up a test. I found no particular issues.

InactiveOK, that makes sense now. Maybe the thread can be moved.

Would recording 3 channels from the same multiplex require more than one tuner?

Yes one tuner can do two at the same time. So Two tuners are required. Unit also still tuned to ITV-HD for live TV. So 3 required.

InactiveI had a pixellation issue on Friday with Vintage Voltage recorded from Dmax.
Recording simultaniously had been:
Dmax – Vintage Voltage
Channel 5 HD World’s Most Scenic Railway Journeys
ITV HD Van De Valk
Both HD recording were fine, but Vintage voltage had extensive Pixellation roughly every 30 seconds,
This even caused the recording to keep skipping back approx 5 seconds at one point and looping over the same 5 seconds.
I attempted to watch Vintage Voltage about 1 hour after it was recorded. To Check for an issye with Dmax itself, I stopped playback, and checked Dmax in real time, which showed no pixellation at all, and signal strength and quality over 95%.

ParticipantThanks I will try that combination though I have a solid 100% quality on all the COM6 and PSB-3 channels.
I do record Worlds most scenic railway journeys and Van De Valk not watched any recorded Van De Valk yet.

InactiveI have done the 3 recording test on both Aura and 4000T. There seems to be a real problem for me with the Aura on the SD channels particularly on COM6 ArqB Mux (channels 25 and 26 Yesterday etc). The signal quality is low and fluctuating whilst signal 96%-100%.
I will try to attach picture screen shots:
first one should be Aura. 2nd pic 4000T

Interesting. However on the Aura Tuner 3 appears to be receiving from a different frequency than the FVP-4000T so difficult to compare.

Ah yes that was a bit weird, the Aura needed a retune not sure how it even got ch 22?

At a guess, Mux COM5 from Rowridge.

ModeratorComparison of signal levels between a 4000T and Aura are meaningless….why
The info I have to hand
The 4000T does not conform to the latest DTG specification reporting a higher level then other units that do conform to the spec i.e. Aura

The confusion for me is that my aura has poor quality SD channels with pixelation but watching on the tv freeview via aura pass through has a great picture with high quality/strength. For a layperson it looks to be an issue with the aura.

ModeratorTo be clear I am not disputing some are having SD problems, just wanted to advise that comparison with 4000T is not a good idea.
