ModeratorFurther, text release note:
• Network Server – DLNA / UPnP:
You can watch live TV and recordings using DLNA / UPnP clients and thus you can enjoy Aura in the second room.
You may control Aura server preferences directly from DLNA / UPnP clients.
Turn on Network Server in Settings > Record & Share > Home Network and find a Aura 4k Media Server in your home network.
• Various Power Management Options:
Aura enters deep standby mode automatically from normal standby. You can set the entering time or deep standby time period.
Go to Settings > Freeview Play Preference > Power Management.
• Channel Organization:
You can make your favourite channel lists on the EPG and place them in your preferred order.
Go to Settings > Channel & Broadcast > Favourite Channels > Move.
• Improved Trick Play Performance:
The precision and speed in trick play have been improved. FF/FR buttons work every time you press them.
• Recording Playback Option:
There are options to select watch from start or resume watching when you playback recordings.
• Recording Notification Option:
You can set whether to display the recording notification message or not.
Go to Settings > Record & Share > Recording Options > Recording Notification.
• Background Opacity Option:
You can set the background opacity on Freeview home, Recordings, Top Picks to keep the live TV background. Go to Settings > Channel & Broadcast > On-screen Display > Background Opacity.
• OK Key Function Option:
You can assign the OK key to display detailed information or play VoD content.
Go to Settings > Channel & Broadcast > On-screen Display > OK Key Function.
• Import and Export User Settings:
You can backup your settings in the internal HDD and import them later.
Go to Settings > Freeview Play Preference > System Settings > Import / Export User Preferences.
• Power Button on Freeview Home:
You can restart Aura apps, system, or shut it down from Freeview home menu.
• Font Size Option:
You can change the font size in Aura to make text on the screen easier to read.
• Channel Replacement:
The channel list you have made it on Top Picks > On Now is also applied to What’s On Now in Freeview home.
• No PIN Code Input to Delete Recordings:
You are not required to input PIN code to delete your recordings.
• Search UI Layout:
The QWERTY keyboard is now available on Search.

InactiveI was rudely awakened this morning by the dulcet tones of countdown. Having cursed my neighbour for having his tv on loud it transpired it was ours that had switched itself on.
This coincides with my Aura box being updated yesterday. I have no idea what may have caused this, anyone else woke up to count down this morning or any idea what may be the problem? Do I need to call an exorcist?
Regards
Paul

ModeratorCheck HDMI CEC settings…
Sounds like the Aura booted and switched the TV on.

ParticipantGood news for anyone with a Windows 10 laptop especially if it has HDMI Out.
Windows version of VLC has upnp options that can access Live TV and recordings using the 4K DLNA Media Server,

InactiveSomething to be considered for the future, perhaps: If the Aura is displaying the settings screen when it is switched off, can it resume to, say, the home screen when it is switched on again? (Instead of going back to the settings screen.)

InactiveIs the first line of the ‘key changes’ screen meant to have the date in full?

I shut it down with long push – OK from live TV on retiring.
I have my aura set to go into full sby midnight to 07:00. This allows the aura app to view live breakfast TV without having to use the remote to wake the box.
It’s in active sby (red led) when I enter the room.

InactiveI love the DNLA functionality. But just to be clear – are all Full HD recordings and HD Live channels only transmitting in SD? A quick test using VLC on my PC makes it look so.

960 x 540 with my settings
It’s the same as downloading to a PC using the box web interface.
AVIDemux will scale 960 x 540 to 720p (1280 x 720). You will have to try it to see if you think it’s a worthwhile.

Yes. HD recordings and HD channels are transcoded when watched via DLNA.

ParticipantAnother way that does give a decent full screen picture. It’s superior to the Aura app.
Samsung Galaxy Tab A. Bubble UPnp to connect to server. VLC for android player as chosen player.
